Please fix 'Ignite Munching' now that you have the tools

Ignite Munching is a long admitted bug that was (re)introduced with TBC but has not yet been a serious issue in Classic because it wasnt yet common to have simultaneous crits as fire … until now. With Living Bomb dot crits and explosion crits and fireball+instant pyro crits all getting smashed together, ignite munching is going to be a major factor.

Having to use clunky queue-canceling macros to avoid a spellbatching bug is extremely unsatisfying.

tl;dw

  • When two fire spells crit and land within a spellbatch window, one crit’s ignite will be “munched”, meaning it will not contribute to the next ignite tick. Basically, every time there is a munch, you lose out on 40% of the damage that spell did, so if a fireball crit for 10K damage and was munched, you would miss out on 4k dmg.
  • This results in up to ~10% loss in DPS in ICC

Bumping this since they’re doing other class fixes right now. Please fix ignite munching, it’s a pretty major loss and requires a macro to only partially fix it and only for those aware of the macro. I don’t want to be stuck playing arcane any longer than we have to be and this could make the difference.

Bump. Blizzard please fix this! This issue is annoying!

The way spellbatching works in the classic games has never been accurate to how the games used to work.

When they reduced the window of time it didn’t fix any of these actual bugs with the batching.

bump please blizzard, save our children!

Bumping for the mage brethren. Us resto druids feel you in not having major class bugs addressed.

The time has come
