I’m on board with you. However i dont think it should be changed for the minority with a lack of self control. As the dude earlier stated these are post nerf raids and on 4.3.4 equivilent class balance. You can kill a vast majority of the hc raid bosses in full 346 gear.
disrupting the entire point of a profession for a little instant gratification is a bad choice imo, and i liked your example with farming for .01% boes, some people will 100% do it. The vast majority wont. So why cater to that small percentage. Archeology epics are the same in my mind.
Their biggest mistake was definitely putting it out during prepatch, but the playerbase is still the issue, not the drop rate or profession itself.
I’m going to reduce what you’re saying to its elements so hopefully you understand how silly it is - The way other people enjoy the game is stupid and they should quit the game entirely, only the concerns of (me)collectors and completionists matter.
People care about more than the binary of, kill boss or not kill boss.
If that is what you read. I have my answer to my previous post. So thanks i guess.
Your argument is people with 0 control not getting an item they dont need is a massive problem that needs to be addressed. While my point is, if you want it that bad, that is a YOU problem. Not a gameplay or mechanics problem.
If the way you enjoy the game is to minmax, then minmax. But don’t complain when you actually have to put in time and effort. How dense are you lmao. At no point did i say the way people play the game is stupid or they should quit. Im saying this is a flaw with you as a player, not with the game.
You wanna know what the real min maxing hardcore players are doing right now? Theyre farming like lunatics for rare drops to give them a slight edge, and theyll do that until raids release. But if they dont get it they arent going to come whine on the forums like a moron because they couldnt get something they started grinding for knowing it was super rare. Theyll get their 346 weapon, do pretty much exactly the same dps/hps they would have if they had arch gear, then go into raid get their 359 and be fine. It’s only people like you that “think” you need your prebis 100% completed, but dont want to put in the effort that are a problem.
Also the absolute irony of the dude complaining people cant complete their prebis trying to say I’m a completionist or collector is hilarious. I farm for the sword and staff sparingly when i have nothing else going on. Im curious how many total solves you even got to before you came here and started whining like a child that cant get what he wants gifted to him lmao.
If youre playing a game and not having fun with how youre playing it… yes thats a you problem. If you dont enjoy dropping hundreds of hours into digging. Dont dig and do something else. You still have given me 0 reason this is a gameplay issue and not a player issue.
If the way you choose to play a mmo isnt fun, thats because you made that choice. Not every aspect of every game is for everyone. At this point it feels more like youre projecting a mental illness than an actual game issue lol.
As a side note, you are also projecting “not having fun” onto other people because YOU dont have fun with it. Me and plenty of others that didnt dedicate all our waking moments to archeology arent burned out on it. When i did get burned out i did something else like a rational healthy adult. And guess what, people that are truly hardcore are still going for it because to them that minor upgrade is their goal. Even if they dont find it the most fun, the effort vs reward is worth it to them. If it isnt to you. Then dont go for it. It really is that simple.
You just want the convinience of a slight upgrade with minimal effort. So… i didnt say it before, but i will now. Maybe you should quit the game, cause it might not be for you. Imagine if you do a raid for a month and dont get a bis piece youll be right back on here complaining about that too.
For example. I absolutely despise fishing in wow. So guess what i dont do? Lol
But on the other end when cata originally released i spent 40+ hours farming my bis weapons from lockboxes in a week. Because to me they were worth it. If they hadnt been i wouldnt have done it.
So instead of interacting with my arguments with intellectual honesty you stoop to slinging insults, you’re clearly debating in bad faith. Touch some grass my dude
You are the one literally ignoring every counter argument, and not proving a single point. Ive given you multiple examples and you respond with “the kids are wrong” and " i aM VErY SmArt"
You have yet to give a single point as to how this is a game design problem beyond, well i dont want to sink all my time into getting this item so it should be more accessible. Whereas i have given you literal paragraphs on why its a playerbase problem. So dont try to say I’m arguing in bad faith when you are literally just throwing out gut reactions with 0 substance to it.
I for one am appalled, fishing is great… Well, at least Classic and TBC fishing, WotLK fishing and I think Cata fishing are just too plain. Not rewarding enough to do it.
I have ~75k things fished up on this character. Salty Heydownthere reporting for fishing
Oh sorry, your 1 actual point is “i dont enjoy it”. Which if you dont enjoy it dont do it. Why should all the balance and an entire profession be changed so you can enjoy 1 facet of a game that has dozens of different things you can enjoy instead.
I dont like fishing. blizzard should put in a vendor where i can spend tokens to buy endgame fishing for recipes. But i also dont like leveling cooking. So instead let me turn in those fish to a vendor for the food as well. So i can skip those professions. While I’m at it. I really dont like that my absolute BiS hc item is a really low drop rate off the hardest boss, and i cant be bothered to use my second best for a month or more. so make bosses drop tokens i can spend on specific loot. And give me personal loot while your at it so i dont have to roll against others.
This is essentially your argument. Its dumb and makes little sense outside of you not wanting to put in effort for something that is meant to be an exceptionally rare expansion long grind. Trying to break down something designed for an entire expansion into a 3 week grind and calling it a problem… smh.
And i salute those of you that enjoy it good sir lol. Just not for me. Usually i get too distracted and forget to click while looking somewhere else, then get annoyed after i do that 3 times lmao.
The entire point i think comes across tho, not all grinds in the game are for everyone. This dude just seems to think if he doesnt like an aspect it should be handed to him free of time/effort. And people wonder why wow went the direction it did. Think we have our origin story for retail right here
Nah I know that not all grinds are for everyone and fishing as of late is stale. The only thing worth doing for fishing in WotLK is to stay in Wintergrasp and open water fish for Fish Feast materials, something I don’t typically enjoy doing for my usual lengths of fishing which most of the time is ~1h.
I much prefer pool to pool fishing which funny enough Archaeology sort of mirrors.
Once again a non reply… im going to assume you realized you had no ground to stand on and gave up but are to egotistical to actually say “oh damn, am i wrong?”. No shame in the being wrong game homie. We all have to learn somehow❤️
