Please don’t remove Hunter pets

Which is why I told them to grasp the reality of where the game is now. Not where it was prior to a few months ago, before delves.

Ooooaaaahhhh goal post moving baby. Back it up back it up, goalie can’t block.

And the reality is that they have STATED that Delves are giving out way better gear than they intended and while they are not going to nerf Delve rewards today, they are certainly going to gimp them in the future. Solo content has never and (aside from this blib) will never be an avenue for high end gear.

They’re actually making them more rewarding in 11.1 by making it easier to get gilded crests.

Tell beast masters that they are unable to do DPS damage.
Come back with their response.

Lone Wolf was added as a talent in Warlords of Draenor.

When it was first added, it functioned differently. You could essentially cast raid wide buffs based on various pet families as long as you didn’t have a pet. So you could cast Lone Wolf: Ferocity of the Raptor which increased the critical strike chance of you and everyone else in your group by 5%. Or you could cast Lone Wolf: Power of the Primates, which buffed everyone’s strength, agility, and intellect by 5%.

Then in Legion they redesigned it, so as long as you didn’t have a pet out you got a 30% damage boost to all your abilities and you could cast the same raid buffs as you could in Warlords of Draenor, which is why a lot of MM hunters back then didn’t use pets. It was hard to ignore the 30% damage boost to most of your abilities.

Since then it’s gone through multiple redesigns, but the core identity of the talent has always been the same. Don’t summon a pet and gain significant buffs to your damage and utility. So most MM hunters did not summon pets unless they absolutely had to.

You’re extremely dense if you think thats moving the goalpost.

The spec has been designed to not have a pet as t he primary balancing and with a pet for content thats trivial.

I wouldn’t count on that.

Sorry, read the extra bits as added. You are correct then.

But it goes against “nerfing delves” if they’re going to make them more rewarding instead.

I feel like I’ve repeated myself several times in this thread, but let’s try one more time:

The player choosing which beasts they bond to is an important part of the hunter fantasy to me.

In the MM redesign, the devs are taken away the expression we had of our choice of what beast we have bonded with and replaced it with a predefined eagle.

I am not wild about this removal of our agency. And although I rarely play MM, I am concerned this “we choose your beast” thinking might spread to the design of other hunter abilities. I don’t want them starting to think in terms of “invoking a bear” or “invoking a boar” the next time a hunter ability is redesigned, ignoring our stable.

It already has. Two of the hero specs already have random animals. BM already has dire beast. And yeah, soon pack leader will also have a bear, wyvern and boar we didn’t tame.

I keep thinking of how more and more incongruous hunters are becoming for certain races. I already hated how race specific sentinel and dark ranger are. But now it will also be the case for pack leader. I mean where does any of this fit for say a vulpera or mechagnome hunter? Boar, bear, wyvern, eagle, owl, dark hound. Not a lot of those in the deserts of vol’dun or on the scrap heaps of mechagon.

Well, yes. As a said before. You are correct.

But introducing Tier 11 and higher delves is not the same as what we have right now. I solo T8 delves with a pet. If I can’t solo delves with the Eagle then you all might have a point. But we really don’t know right now. And besides which, I can solo delves with a bunch of other classes without pets too. Not sure why taking the pet away removes my MMs ability to do so.

Going from

To

Is you going ‘no it’s not a thing!’ to ‘okay it’s a thing but’.

This is narcissistic behavior ‘it’s wasn’t a thing, and if it was, it wasn’t that good and if it was it’s not a big deal’

T8 Bountiful Delves will award gilded crests. You can then do higher tiers to earn more.

It’s just a lot easier and less stressful for me compared to other classes. The pet holds stuff in one spot while I’m free to do my rotation instead of needing to constantly jump around.

Thats you choosing to not understand the context.

I never said they couldnt have a pet since legion. I have always said their main design has been around NOT having a pet.

Youre either troll or very uneducated

Pets with marksman has been a thing since the beginning of the game. It is part of the whole hunter Identify lol.

Tell that to the guy above you who keeps repeating ‘it wasn’t in legion, lone wolf, lone wolf, legion lone wolf’

So many people want the hunter class gun in favor of a ranger. it mind boggling why they just don’t ask for an actual ranger class. So many guns and bows to be only used by one class is crazy. We need tinkers and rangers

That’s like saying an retribution paladins design is not around defensives.
