That requires a GCD, and isn’t the pet ability.
Removes it from allies as well, not just yourself.
There are others you use in places like BGs or if your team has an MS.

Skill issue.
Ask your paladin friends to do that for you. No one uses a pet for that except in extremely rare cases.
It’s always good to make sure your target isn’t healing at full speed. Not always your friends will be focusing on the same target.
I think you’re looking for issues that haven’t even been spoken about yet, these changes haven’t even hit PTR yet, and I’m not a clairvoyant being.
RoS could be easily changed to either reduce damage by 5-10% and still get rid of crits in general.
And some of the most unique/prevalent pet family abilities are probably going to be in the talent tree (hence what they’re doning with Cunning, Tenacity, Master’s Call, etc)
I think time will answer all these concerns. But you can look at what they’ve already released on the changes and can make educated guesses on what they’re most likely planning to do with the features they haven’t directly addressed yet publicly.
Ironic, given your parses and PvP rating history.
Wrong.
Nope? Literally pointing to the fact they haven’t addressed those and are likely not to because given them all at once would be broken.
Then it’d be a ‘better defensive’ than the other 2 specs, which would be unbalanced.
They’re not changing the spec because they can’t ‘balance’ around it.
Blizzard explained in detail why they’re making the change. A great example is that if you’re playing MM, even though almost all MM hunters pick Lone Wolf, there was still too much utility behind having certain pets (like having access to Bloodlust for example), which meant you had three choices:
So now, moving into 11.1, Blizzard has fixed that by replacing pets for MM with a spirit eagle. This eagle provides the utility that you’re used to having with your pet, it will be able to provide bloodlust, it will improve your DPS by making your Aimed Shot far more impactful etc, without the need to juggle or sacrifice DPS to do that.
This is a good change, not one to be pissed on and relegated to the dustbin of poor ideas because you’re desperate to have a pet out when two other specs exist that allow you to do that at all times.
You realize how talent trees work right? You don’t have an infinite amount of points in the tree and you miss out on some stuff to grab others depending on circumstance.
And they could literally make RoS a 5% damage reduction and block crits and it would be in line with BM and Surv RoS’s 10% damage reduction and block crits.
But ok dude.
Oh, the person that relies on pet to apply a slow is coming here to talk about parses and PvP.
I’m middle-of-the-pack, pal, and not ashamed of it. Plus I know how to do Lone Wolf enough to have fun with it.
Lone Wolf is the better option in any group content, and it’s pretty useable even in solo stuff, as I’ve been doing for a decade. I very rarely pull a pet out nowadays, and about 50% of the times it’s because I need something that this update is giving me.
It’s also fun how you dismiss something as being only for elites, but then come point my middle-of-the-pack skills. So, who should be listened to? The ones doing the easiest content? Questing?
Oooh, how eloquent!
It’s not a pet ability.
What about arenas?
Wanna try that weak argument with me?
Usable while stunned, and on allies but at no sacrifice (Hence the name) to the hunter? It exists because it makes your pet take dmg and can cause it to die.
‘Relies’, it saves you globals and does it while you’re CC’d and even if the target is out of LoS which is very useful in PvP. Top end PvPers use all sorts of different pets, so yeah. Also higher than you on 3.
By how much, especially for single target specifically~ Just curious if you know the maths, especially for PvP.
Yes because you said ‘skill issue’ despite you lacking any~
Slow is a pet ability, sorry for your inability to read posts.
Already stated? if your team doesn’t have an MS?
Yep? Not even 1550, and not great at the other too!
Concussive shot is not a pet ability.
Lots of arena teams the hunter IS the MS
Jungle
Cupid
Hunter/Spriest
LOL you should probably check achievments. My highest XP is 2363. Youre a solo shuffle carried player which in comparison to actual ladders is closer to 1600. You are also confusing not trying to “being great”
Learn what checkpvp is
If using a GCD is too much for you, it’s a skill issue. I wonder how you manage when you need a pet for something else. Or when your pet is CC’ed. Or when its 6s slow is in its 10s CD.
Obviously it’s more convenient to have a pet playing for you, but the point is that now we won’t need a pet to have access to most of the same utility. Of course it will come in new forms, because each spec is unique.
The update is awesome and I fully embrace it. It was a dream come true when I read it.
I’m coming up with potential solutions dude, they could always just scrap RoS and give MM hunters a different defensive, I don’t know what they’re doing with RoS yet because they haven’t spoken on it and I’m not on their PR team.
Also, they could just leave RoS as a LOS ignoring version of it, as they’re doing with Intimidation, Master’s Call, etc. just doing away with the pet taking 10% damage bit as well.
It’s not like the eagle isn’t there for that purpose of being the pet for MM.
Is RoS really the hill you want to die on, when it’s not even been addressed yet by them, and this change is still probably a month out to PTR.
Honestly I would just ignore them. They are a solo shuffle player that got 1800 one time which is closer to being 1600 in real brackets.
They are talking out of their self
Didn’t they say the PTR should be coming to us after the holidays? And wowhead has theorized it launching in February.
So we’ll have a month, at best to potentially test this new spec. if they keep it.
They countered you use concussive shot instead of pet slow, which is a pet ability I was saying you don’t get passively. The pet applies slow for you.
Feral gets that MS now too, if you’re unaware.
For the record you listed 3 comps lol.
No I’m basing it off average and current. 10 seasons of challenger which is low and indicates higher rating was boosted.
You don’t even hit 1800 in shuffle, how would you know?
Take your own advice.
1 more GCD for DPS, not that you’d be aware of how useful that is. Maybe some day you’ll get that rating.
Not really no, pets shouldn’t be scrapped completely.
On all classes but DH/Evoker so far because I Haven’t done rated yet, and I’ve never pushed for rating because there’s no reason to. Thanks though.
“Not really no, pets shouldn’t be scrapped completely.”
There ya go, there’s your real opinion. Just say that next time instead of beating around the bush.
Yeah? Pets should be allowed for MM, not removing the ability for people to use them completely. That’s what HUNTER is. If you want a bard class where you provide buffs for yourself and your team, maybe ask Blizzard for that.
Nobody, at all, through the entirety of this page has once even said anything remotely close to what you just said about “a bard class where you provide buffs for yourself and your team” and we all are stupider for having had read it.
Obvious troll, not engaging with you anymore.
I’ve tried and succeeded in finding middle ground with several people in these forums, you’re playing a game of trying to come at me over stupid topics that have already been refuted or addressed by Blizzard, and the only thing you’ve stood on is RoS which hasn’t even been publicly addressed yet by Blizzard.
And your final statement after all of it is that you want pets on MM.
K, got it, just say that first next time and I’ll respect you a lot more.
Hell, just keep pets, remove any buffs they give and just do flat damage. If the pet is out, the hunter has a 3-4% debuff.
Thats it. An anti LW that is baked in to the class.
