Why take pets away that people have had it over 20+ years?
Some people have had their same first pet since vanilla.

Get off you high horse and grasp the reality of where the game is at now. Solo content is just as valid a form of end game progression.

I didn’t say it wasn’t. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s still trivial content. However only a fool would actually think they balance around delves over mythic raid/mplus.

No, because if what pet you’re using is that important to you there’s 2 other specs that do that for you

I have recently created a new alt hunter and was actually enjoying the marksman spec and the ability to maintain one pet while I hunted.
The purpose of the pet, besides offsetting the lower damage of a gun vs a sword, is in keeping the enemy at bay so you can shoot from a distance. So it seems to me, unless the eagle is going to allow me to shoot from even farther away, thus ensuring that enemies never get close, it serves no new purpose.
Now until the new mechanic come out I can’t really assess it purpose, but it seems strange to remove one customizable pet only to give me a generic one. Couldn’t this eagle be replaced with the pet I am already using?

Which is exactly what BM hunter does and will continue to allow you to do. Takes you two seconds to click the change button.

I’m really interested in seeing how this change affects Spec Popularity 3 months after the patch this launches in…
I wonder how many people will “just switch to BM” like everyone is yelling at them to do.
Or if they just stop playing Hunter altogether.
Or if more people start playing MM Hunter because of this.

I’ve read three of these threads now and I’ve come to same conclusion if you like pets so much play Beastmaster or Survival because they will still have pet availability if you actually want them.

Considering the only people complaining are solo players not that many are quitting.
As most people play more than solo content these are welcomed changes.

Remove the Hunters instead.
MM Hunter have Pets? Since when?
Your title is misleading. Also, that spec has been dead for awhile. This could breathe new life into it, and the “eagle that is always circling” is a cool approach. If you were a MM main, I could see the gravelling, but no one plays this spec and something needs to change.

I’ve seen it and I’ve also seen most of the replies from most other Hunters and most other people which is most people don’t use pets as Marksman anyway so this is basically a nonissue being made into one by people like you, again you have the availability of two other specs if a randomly pick pet is that important to you and you don’t like having an eagle.

I can understand how control over companion RP is not important to everyone, but I have to admit I’m a bit taken aback by how dismissive some of you are.

They change specs all the time, people adapt and either continue playing it or move on to another spec of that class or another class entirely, this isn’t that deep.
