What makes mm a pet spec?
Just having a pet doesn’t make it a pet spec.
Pets are a PART of certain spec class fantasy, but not the entire class. If that was the case, every spec of a class would be copy/paste and wouldn’t have their own unique class fantasy.
How did you reach this conclusion?
That’s all that’s needed to make it a pet spec.
The Rogue class fantasy is being stealthy, which is something all specs share. Removing pets from MM would be like removing stealth from Outlaw.
Don’t you know rogues all have copy paste class fantasy? Same thing with paladins and their light. Druids with shape-shifting and nature magic. Death Knights being undead. If Marksman has the ability to summon a wolf no one will ever tell it apart from Survival, so we gave it a bird.

Nothing you have said is factual.
They arent getting rid of hunter pets. They are just changing how marksmans works if you would have read the full article on it. Marksman will be given a unique eagle pet that interacts and doesnt impact lone wolf.
They are indeed getting rid of the ability to summon a pet that a hunter has had potentially for the last 20 years and replacing it with generic eagle #7.
That for all intents and purposes from reviewing the text, potentially will only appear when your doing an ability and immediately disappear again. So not a pet.

Oh thank goodness they are just getting rid of pets to force an eagle on people that also doesn’t traditionally show in game space. 
They’re not.
They’re removing hunter pets from one spec, Marksman, which most people didn’t use pets with anyway since you lost a good chunk of performance using a pet with MM.
Survival and Beast Mastery will still have pets. So if you want to play the pet spec as a hunter, you’ve got two options.
This is a repeat of the Frost Mage outrage when Blizzard made the Water Elemental a summon that appeared when you used Icy Veins instead of having it always active. Why did they do that? Because the vast majority of Frost Mages didn’t pick the Water Elemental talent and went with Lonely Winter instead which was the far superior talent.
“Oh no, I won’t be able to have a pet out to kill mobs when I am in the open world!” I hear you say…
So set up an open world spec for BM. You don’t need BiS to perform in open world content, not even Delves. So you can just use your MM gear, rip all the enemies a new one when it comes to doing open world content and then when it comes to doing M+, Raiding or PvP, you can just swap back to MM with no drawbacks.

A player, shouldn’t be relegated to playing another spec simply because Blizzard couldn’t handle “Balancing” around the singular minor talent node choice of Lone Wolf.
Lone Wolf did not define what MM hunters were, it is a minor talent choice. It should never have held such weight that the entire spec was “defined” around it. Its a minor talent choice. It’d be like saying Fury Warriors are define entirely by SMF being minor talent choice, or any other classes entire spec being modeled around any singular minor talent choice.
Actually dps wise and by definition of what a marksman is yes lone wolf defines the class. As a marksman is typically someone who goes in alone or operates on there own.
If most people didnt use - i hope you can provide the number to back up this statement - Why they need to remove the pet from people who use it?

And look at that, if you want to play without pets, there is TEN whole classes as option for you, and there is no need to touch MM
Its not the same thing, because mages don’t have a variety of different pets that have different abilities and visuals

And look at that people who want to use pets still have beast mastery. Plus MM is gonna have an eagle pet exlcusive to its spec that wont impact there very important line wolf trait so mm still technically has a pet.
At this point all the outrage is just a few trolls that don’t even play Hunter let alone marks Hunter.

There’s a reason the majority of the people happy about the changes are actually posting from hunters.
No they can just remove lone wolf on MM and make pets viable.
It’s alright that you want to invalidate our feedback on the removal of long time companions within the MM spec by stating “We’re trolls”.

The Minor Talent Choice of Lone Wolf shouldn’t, and never should have, held so much weight that it became the Defacto, the must, the you will for players engaging in “higher end content”. Its a minor choice. It’s not major. Why is an entire spec being reworked, redone, upended, overhauled, to remove Pets to “fix” the “sub-optimization” the minority of players who partake in higher end content deal with.
At this point, all the supporters of this crap are M+ andys an PVE elitists, that pick any crap that the sims tell they to do.
This is just troll bait and FOTM supporters who would pick another talent, spec or class in a flash.
There’s reason the majority of the people are enraged about the changes regardless of the characters they are posting.
