Only in PvP. Adjusting a percent up or down to match others is not that hard when you have access to all the data. But the amount of times they try to change things because of pvp in a PvE focused game is insane.

100%. It’s way easier to just remove something rather than balancing. Unique pets were awesome, instead of balancing they just shoehorned all of them into 3 types. Now they are removing pets completely from a spec. They keep making these small changes to streamline but in reality it’s to simplify and make it easier on the devs.

Don’t forget the players who don’t want to have to make choices. They want only one option that catered to their playing style. With two possible options, there’s the chance one will be better, but with only one option now, they don’t have to worry.

What tryhards do to try to minmax is of no concern to the average player.

Hunter pet is necessary for farming pve ( like if you are a skinner/leatherworker) it is also what makes the class enjoyable.

To perform at your best as MM you actually need to not have a pet summoned. It’s been that way for a long time. If you have a pet out as MM you are performing to a far lesser degree than you would if you didn’t have one.
So the planned change to make it so that MM Hunters do not have the ability to summon pets at all, and only have a spirit eagle to help them out, is fine.
If you want to embrace using pets, there are two other specs that allow that. One of which is literally all about pets.

This is unironically one of the worst decisions I’ve seen blizzard make (on world of warcraft) and there has been A LOT.
At least with demo lock deletion in legion they had the excuse of the new class.

Doesn’t seem like this change is giving hunters mortal wounds or any of the other pet debuffs they apply for PvP - it would just mean MM is entirely losing access to all of those options so you’re actually gonna be losing utility for PvP. Enjoy!
