Baby girl. Oh my lord. Hunters are the only class in the game that is the closest thing we have to a Ranger. If we had RANGER and HUNTER as two distinct classes, we wouldn’t even be ARGUING right now. But no, Blizzard has to SQUEEZE IT ALL IN to Hunter.

Hunters fully support the ranger fantasy, it’s even in their class hall, which was joined by the main ranger orders in the world.

Ranger and Hunter are 2 very different class fantasies. Which is why the specialty of MM is having such a hard time. It’s trying to be 2 things at the same time.

Hunters and Rangers could easily coexist in the Hunter class hall with zero issues if Rangers are ever introduced to the game though.
Some hunters are also rangers…but not all rangers are also hunters. As all Sunwalkers are Pally but not all Pally or Sunwalkers…do you see the diff? Do you see it…
Warcraft fantasy. Which contains petless hunters. Actually, in lore, petless hunters and melee rangers predate WoW.
If you want to be technical, you can make an Outlaw Rogue and call it a Ranger, or a BM Hunter and call it a ranger. The fantasy is very adaptable. MM covers the loner ranged specialist.
A Petless Hunter, is not a hunter. They’re a ranger.
Hunters have pets. Rangers do not.

I’ve literally never EVER heard of Alleria or Sylvanas or even Nathanos referred to as “Hunter”. Hunter is a naturalist class which specializes in taming beasts and natural medicine from the wilds and such. As well as traps of course.
Rangers would be all about their bows and guns, and probably use bandages to heal themselves, and no pets.

Hunter, like any other class, is an umbrella term that covers several fantasies, including ranger.

Because you currently have the choice, because the Ranger Class itself does not exist. So they are trying and have been trying, to fit the Ranger Billet thru a specialty within Hunter. Which in itself, contradicts what the Hunter Class is.
