Blizzard absolutely could have fixed the design issues with current Lone Wolf to accommodate both sides of the fence. They just don’t want to. This is where we are now. They are completely reworking the spec to make it easier for them to tune and balance without having to worry about the pesky pet anymore. I really hope this level of laziness doesn’t continue to seep into other aspects of the game.

It’s not a pet. It’s a visual lore thing.
I don’t care about that.
So if I want to play a ranged hunter with a pet, I have one choice, down from 2, and prior to Legion, down from 3.

No. They couldn’t because some people learn more mechanics then what is required to kill world mobs.
You will flat out refuse to acknowledge any of it but it does exist

I just really enjoy the fact that they’re going to this level, over a minor talent choice. Lone Wolf Isn’t even a major choice within the tree. Its minor.
Lets rework, redesign, an entire specialization over a minor choice that causes a minor population of players a small amount of “sub-optimization”.

Because there are multiple issues with how it’s now.
There’s multiple reasons like class flexibility and balancing issues.

If you want to talk pet AI and all that we can, but when I descibed the concept of pets working like the eagle you immediately backlashed with no pets.
That’s such a silly thing to say. The only people using a pet on Marksmanship ever in your mind are the most nooby players? Okay… please get real. People have played Hunter since vanilla WoW with a pet on every spec. Some people aren’t happy this is being completely taken away regardless of skill level.

And how is tuning what has basically been a dot for 20 years so difficult. And the flexibility has been there for years. Take a simple talent or dont. Or do both.
I know your post history is typically combative and trollish. And I could do a raise a fist to the sky moment and youll feel like your ego is stroked, so I wont. I hate this change and hope it is reversed. But I do guess people arent happy unless they take away from others. All they live for is hate. Sad life there.

Yes, Put it on the record. I believe pet using MM hunters as a whole group are some of the worst players in the game barring pvp currently.
