Again I never asked for lone wolf. I rather they remove it so we can keep our pets.
No it’s not. Go switch to BM right now. You send out 20 pets constantly. It’s like a Zoo master. Summoning that many minor minions is not fun for me. My spec fantasy is being removed from the game in favor of an “eagle”.
Sorry to say, but you are in the minority.
Yeah, like when survival became melee and people told them to adapt by playing MM. Just keep telling people to adapt, move over, go elsewhere. Eventually that just turns into people quitting the game but hey who cares.
If only we were so lucky…
You can customize your talents to not summon a bunch of minions, and the patch even adds more customization in that you can now strengthen your single pet rather than having 2 pets at once.
The only reason it’s the minority, is because the data shows most people selecting Lone Wolf as a talent. That data doesn’t verify that’s how most people want to play Marksmanship, it only shows that’s how many people pick it because they think it’s the correct choice. That’s the problem with looking at data sometimes, you miss the nuance.
No you can’t. You don’t even get Multishot if you don’t take Animal Companion. You obviously don’t even care enough to try BM in the current iteration to see what we mean.
I like guns/bows
I play all three specs. I just choose to bond with my actual dog not a pixel animal that doesn’t exist.
MM hasn’t used pets since legion. Learn how the class works.
No doubt many of us will adapt if we have to. But in the meantime those who are not happy with this change should feel free to let blizz know about our views.
Hope you’re doing well.
If there was opposition to Lone Wolf it wouldn’t have endured 10 years.
And I was active enough during Cata and MoP to see people actively requesting petless Hunter.
Heck, for a time, in WoD, even petless Survival was played a lot because it felt better.
While you are correct, It’s a craptastic sandwich.
“You know that spec you’ve loved, and played for the past 20 years alongside your pet? Yeah, No longer. We’re removing that from this spec because we want it to fit this 1 singular node choice that has been giving a very specific type of player problems by making that node choice the spec. Say goodbye to your cherish pets if you want to be an MM hunter. Go play another class, or another spec if you truly want your cherished pets.”
It’s just entirely dismissive and entirely wrong. If they truly wanted to have this specialty spec within Hunters, that is not a hunter because no pets, then they should make this new additional spec they’ve created be the 4th spec and call it “Ranger” or some other non-hunter denotation, And removed the stupidity of Lone wolf from Marksmen.
Specs change every expansion. The pet never was the defining feature of MM. Actually, going petless became the defining feature 10 years ago.
They make changes to the game all the time, same with specs and how they work, if people choose to quit over that that’s a personal choice, it’s not that deep to me and as someone that has played Destruction Warlock main for my whole time of playing I’ve had to adapt to it being changed completely many, many, many times and I still play it so I stand by people either adapt, play something else or as you said move on.
Lone Wolf endured 10 years because it was optional, or even many times the meta choice. It was fine being an “option”. The problem is it is no longer an option after the rework. Alienating many players.
No, it endured 10 years because people favored it over pet. If it was just because it was optimal, it would have been scrapped long ago.
Using a pet over LW is a substantial dps loss. It’s why you have to dismiss your pet after lusting in mplus.
The pet hits one target.
I don’t mind the option the choose a pet in a MM spec, but getting rid of pets entirely is stupid.
My vote is to give rogues a ranged sniper spec. Why only have one class that can use a gun? There are so many guns in the game that want useage. Snipers are the ultimate roges anyway. Borrow from vanilla hunter that changes to weapons for mele, complete with the dead zone and wing clip.
You can say that, but you have no way of proving it. You’re so biased it’s crazy you can’t see. Glad you’re getting what you want and can revel in the dismay of others so easily with zero empathy.
IT is still, very much, an option. Its not a requirement to have. This change, makes this singular node choice that is causing problems with a certain group of players the entirety of that spec.
While you, and some others, have gone “Petless” since its creation, many others have not. Many players don’t choose the Lone Wolf Spec.
The Meta has forced this “Choice but not a choice” upon players. For whatever reason, Lone Wolf has become greater than what its original intention (Regardless of what some other players think) of that its bonus to damage was to only offset the amount of DPS a hunter would loose since they CHOSE to not have a pet summoned.
But no, its okay. Let’s force this meta onto every single hunter and remove their OPTION of having or not having a pet because it causes strife for the few hunters that do higher end content.
