Yeah, I’ve talked about how both can be happy meanwhile you keep going ‘they afwaid of rares, they bad, bad players they not -real- Marksman’. But go off on pot stirring
its been explained at length how you can’t just have free utility without it being a part of the classes budget to… your just a broken record and yes… people who want pets as MM do tend to be the bottom of the barrel “how did they hit level cap players”.
How so? Please explain instead of insulting or can you scream ‘gacha’ while just dodging?
Blizzard will do what they want to do unfortunately, we can adapt to change or look for greener pastures.
P.S don’t feed green guy.
Why…its been explained you just keep asking new people to re-explain it.
First off you are ready clarified the point save one thing, Hunter and Ranger are two different words with extremely different implications aka one is not the other. Lone Wolf has been a thing that allowed MM to roll without a pet if you choose to…Emphasis on choice. Now that choice is being removed from those that do want a pet with MM which I consider a mistake.
I’m not fighting reality, I’m explaining my perception of it, I don’t expect everyone to accept it. Everyone can have their opinion including you… I am fine with disagreement.
You’re right
I shouldn’t assume people have basic common sense tonubderstandnit being a thing meant it’s been the default. Like in legion when it wasn’t optional.
Lone wolf wasn’t the option it was the default. Using a pet was the option. This thread and every other thread has been made by people that don’t even play hunter and trolling.
Most of the people on the forum are also clueless.
The irony considering you’re the one who doesn’t play hunter or even understand why the changes were needed.
I’m not picking fights. I’m stating facts. Not my fault if people can’t handle reality.
Because there’s been issues with MM since after legion because of the pet option.
I haven’t insulted anyone btw.
You can’t have free utility unless it’s part of this change, then you can have free utility. Like what would it hurt to have the choice to have a pet vs 5% damage buff assuming the pet required skills are disconnected from the pet? Further more, why do you need to get rid of your current pet for an eagle?
All of this has been explained to you before… the “compromise” that might be possible is to have all dmg done to the pet be 100% applied to the hunter while it doesn’t do any dmg or generate any threat.
Even that… a good player can abuse it in mythic plus. The issue is people who have zero idea how to play beyond entry level difficulty have no understanding nor imagination on how to play a class. They then try to do what your doing. Taking the most layman’s idea on how to use something not even comprehending what they are trying to explain and compare.
Its like explaining algebra to a person unable to do multiplication.
I use my pet on my hunter in every spec. I don’t care if I lose 4% of my dps or whatever.
I am a hunter, and I will use my pet. The entire identity of the class.
It’s YOUR identity.
MMS identity hasn’t involved a pet since legion.
Since WoD. When that Lone Wolf talent debutted, it instantly became a favorite.
Congratz… people dont use abilities on warrior’s too because the game labels them as “spells” as well.
Your not giving a hot take.
True. I usually use legion though because that’s when artifact weapons came out and Blizz went big on spec identity and using a pet wasn’t an option
Why would this need to be a thing? Why can’t people just have their worse DPS choice?
Then explain it, you keep saying ‘it’s been explained’ ‘it has to be this way’ but then go on about people not wanting to lose their companion are actually too bad at the game to even fight rares.
I will admit that marksmenship’s had an identity crisis since wod. it didnt want to seem to commit to being a no pet ranged sniper spec but kept the pet option. my guess is the newer devs finally decided they wanted to go with the petless idea and had spent the better part of dragonflight figuring out how to implement it. when I was leveling it in tww it sort of felt like the pet was an afterthought for the spec. my main worry is that its going to lose its pet tank for leveling and not get any tankiness in return.
making BM the default leveling spec. sort of like how frost is the default for mages. I mean you can level with fire its just not fun. since it lacks most of the kiting and cc options frost has. and only has a weak 5min cd ‘cheat death’ type heal and a moderate decent shield. and its damage is based on crits.
I have at length… its just beyond you and I can get being annoyed you can’t understand it. Its one of those things you have to actively trust the better players just understand.
Its a lot like why covenants were a disaster. You see something, you can’t see beyond the most basic take on it. Then watch as everything explodes.
Because in the long run people keep asking for support for the worst DPS choice, and every change in the class needs to acknowledge the worst DPS choice, which is why eventually things are removed.
That’s why the water elemental as a permanent pet got to go for frost mages. It was just subpar, but required attention every expansion. Eventually Blizzard removed it but kept the fantasy in a different form (temporary elemental).
Same here, the hunter fantasy is all there in the eagle companion, it’s just the pet mechanic that is going away.
No, you make claims, then when pushed on them you break away. You can’t understand that people want to play MM with their pet even at a DPS loss, it has repeatedly gone over your head so you fizzle out and go
You have a vision in your head and it’s so closed you can’t imagine someone else’s world. Like I used to mythic raid, it was cool and all, but I didn’t like the restrictions it brought so I took myself away from it. And now because of that choice my voice is apparently gone because ‘no true Scottsman’
It’s just silly.
