Please don’t remove Hunter pets

It’s like a 3% DPS difference assuming you only care about numbers

+1 for not removing MM pet capability.

Yeah, I Lone Wolf in group content, but I will often bring a pet out for solo content.

“Solo content doesn’t matter.”

You’re the problem.

“Just use this other spec you don’t want to use instead.”

No. It would be simpler to not gut a fundamental aspect of the class. There’s nothing wrong with marksman having the option to summon a pet.

“But what about the eagle?”

It’s not an eagle. It’s a description in a talent node. The eagle isn’t going to fly around with us. It’s not going to do didily squat. For all intents and purposes, there is no eagle.

You want to fix the bloodlust problem? We don’t need YET ANOTHER ABILITY when we already have Primal Rage, just let MM cast it without a pet the way they can already cast Fortitude of the Bear. Tie it to the first Call Pet slot. If you have a ferocity pet there, you can cast Primal Rage. Tenacity pet? Fortitude of the Bear. And so on and so forth.

Marksman can be fixed with simple adjustments, not yet another complete overhaul that will irreversibly break the spec for the remainder of the expansion.

“How do you know it will break it?”

See: Dark Ranger. Littered with bugs and at the mercy of awful RNG. They can’t even get a hero tree right, how are they going to get another class overhaul four months after the first one right? They aren’t. RIP marksman hunter.

It will take them two expansions to admit that it was extremely bad and roll back “hunter reworks”.

i mean if survival anything to go by…they never will.

Since when the concept of hunting requires pets?
Besides, there’s this little concept called “Ranger” that Hunter covers that has no pets.
You are fighting reality and can’t win. Lone Wolf has been a thing for ten years, which is half of WoW’s age.

Taking agency and option from players is not the way. Stupid move by blizzard.

MM should have access to their pets.

I thought MM hunters dont require pets, unlike BM hunter?

I understand why they want lone wolf to work and why they’re pushing it so hard. Survival being changed to melee clearly set it apart. However the big pets and summoning more through abilities doesn’t seem to be enough to separate the other two specs.

The issue I see is that they’re trying to shove so much fantasy involving the ranged weapons guns, bows and crossbows into a single class that has been reduced down to two specs and it all can’t fit plus their own ranged weapon fantasy. I know people might not like it but there does need to be another class that uses those weapons or do something with rogue and warrior the only other two classes that used to use them, even if it wasn’t nearly as much as hunter.

100% true. MM has had nearly every ranged fantasy shoved into it. Doesn’t help that beast master’s theme of recent has just been summon more wild animals.

And boy oh boy does it feel like it and I bet blizzard feels it as well and removing any of the pet stuff would alleviate some of the bloated feeling. Not that I want that to happen but I feel they’re going to push lone wolf and not back down this time.

“a choice that doesn’t hurt anyone and includes everyone should be removed”
“why?”
“because I think so”

They are removing a lot more than pets that’s for sure.

All of that is really irrelevant as you still don’t know what you’re talking about.

Balancing issues as well as design decisions are why it’s being removed.

LW has been default since legion my guy.

Oh there was no way to have a pet as Marks since legion?

I’m not seeing where the balancing issues lie? Just let people have a subpar build with pets if they prefer it. Not everybody does end game content only.

Where did I say that? Please make an actual point instead of pointless terrible attempts at a “gotcha”

It shouldn’t and it destroys the spec since they have to constantly account for it when its only used for defensive cds in pvp and the worst players as a tank to farm rares they should be soloing without it.

For solo content yes. Also some single target instance fights that require high movement it is better to use a pet.
