“The minority of Mythic+ dungeon runners matter more than the casual players who make up most of the playerbase and the devs are, for some reason, incapable of making a solution that lets people choose suboptimal things.”
It’s like when they got rid of the Water Elemental for Frost Mage. I didn’t care that I wasn’t performing as good as someone with Lonely Winter or whatever the feature was. I didn’t care that I wouldn’t be getting the biggest numbers possible for my spec because I was having fun playing the way I wanted to play, with the class fantasy that has existed with mage since Warcraft 3.
First of all your idea of what a casual is is completely wrong.
Mplus is very open to casual players. Just because someone is a casual doesn’t mean they are awful at the game.
And yes the people doing group activities in a game based on group content are more of a priority for balance and class design than the people that do content that’s so trivial it doesn’t even matter.
The water elemental change was actually a very good thing for the spec.
You don’t do content where those things matter and your opinions aren’t as relative.
I have to say, this hunter outrage is just coiling itself right up my fork. I’m slurping it up like spaghetti. I feel like this is what the forums would look like if they gave worgen tails then took them away.
Such a dismissive statement. “The very same game you play as me, simply because you don’t play this stuff… Well your opinion/feedback doesn’t matter. Good day sir.”
I am unsure why you or the people supporting you want to gatekeep MM hunters not having pets anymore…Regardless of whether they are meta or not there are people who want to use them, who have been able to use them for 20 years and should continue to be allowed to do so if they so desire. It does not hurt you or anyone else if they use these pets. For some people it is simply for aesthetic reasons or for “character”. Honestly, does the reason matter? Let people choose the lone wolf build or not.
Because you can’t really balance a class around if or if they don’t have pet utility. It is actively holding the game back and why MM has been so unstable over the years. Its why frost mages have proc pets like they are intending with MM and why destro sacks theirs.
You can’t take the customization, and pets that players have come to love and cherish over the last 2 decades and be like “Welp, if you’ve been an MM this entire time and love your pet… Welp, that sucks because you’re getting a generic eagle #7 and if you want to continue to use those cherished pets you’ve had… Well, you can always move away from MM to BM or Survival. Because we’re removing your option for MM.” And expect that kind of statement, to go over well.
Just like all the other previous times they’ve attempted to remove the pets from the Hunter class, this one will most likely end with it being reverted back to having pets being an option for players. As it is, at the end of the day, a pet class.
I guess im just not so… im trying to think of a polite way to put this… amazed at the wonders of the world through a mind where every five minutes its a new experience…
Every spec has been rebuilt or close to every spec. This larp is weird and makes no sense. It’s a weird emotional argument that comes off disingenuous… just say you dont wanna give up your world mob tank. I would respect it more then this weird nonsense.
It’s alright that you didn’t form connections to your pets. I’m sorry that you didn’t.
I know I did. If tomorrow, Blizzard came out stating that Destruction would never be able to summon the Voidwalker, I would be very, very upset. As Thanphog is apart of Phenomenon. Because I enjoy Destruction, it’s my favorite spec. And losing my voidwalker, would be a major loss to my character.
Heck, I was upset when they removed the Water Elemental from Frost mages. As I greatly enjoyed that on my alt mage I have.
Much is the same for many hunters that do have MM as their primary spec, and still utilize their pets. Losing that pet, is a major loss to their character. Especially given the wide range and variety and custom naming options hunters have for their pets.
While yes, just like if they did the thing to destruction, I would still have that Pet/minion on the other specs… I wouldn’t have it on the spec I enjoy and like more.
flashes back the sad moment of reading the legion april fools note regarding the Lone Wolf
“Marksmanship Hunters must once again choose the Lone Wolf talent to play without a pet. However, to select this talent, you will first have to watch as your beloved companion sadly sulks away, occasionally glancing back at you to see if you’ve changed your mind, while listening to “In the Arms of an Angel” at maximum volume. You monster.”
