As I have said MANY times before, if the changes are for group content, I am all for them. I don’t use my pet except for solo content or if I need to provide lust. I also can’t play BM to the full potential to save my life, too much micro management for my tastes and survival, as the melee spec, is not for me.
Let me ask this, do you want all MM hunters to play the same, no variance, no options for different content, or are you just a toxic troll that wants things your way and put those that disagree with it down?

I want a spec that is not muddied by pet management. And we are getting it.

You can get that without removing pets as an option for overworld.
As has been stated many times. The pro pet crowd here is fully welcoming changes to QoL and for petless pepes to use their pet less. Without removing the call pet ability entirely.

No you can’t. The spec design will always be split. As is evidenced by the problems since LW’s existence.

Because mm got pets again after they lost them for legion/artifact purposes?
What about ranged surv? Combat rogue? Melee hunters? Frost elemental?
Paladins zeal? Deathknight presences? Warlock meta? Glad stance?
Like I can do this all day. Because one thing"came back", you think you have this massive leg to stand on in this arguement.
If blizzard sees a change in mm useage that isn’t positive, they’ll revert it. If they see positive numbers with the changes, they’ll keep adding on.

The problem comes with having to summon and dismiss for certain utility. Which should be moved to the hunter. It was a problem that things like lust was tied to pets.

Again survival hunters can still equip a bow! despite that fact that it is a huge damage loss.

That was only just removed and there was a lot less sentiment tied to that. I’m still upset about this and hope it’ll be reverted but it has nothing on hunter pet and wasn’t as useful for overworld content either.
The “one thing” is the “one thing” we’re talking about here.
I am hopeful they’ll listen to feedback because unlike the other things you listed it would be harmless to keep pets in for MM.

LOL, “pet management”, I thought we were talking abotut MM, not BM. The only "management: I do for my pet is call it, dismiss it at the start of group content, call it for lust and occasionally direct it to move when I am out soloing with it.
You can play petless in solo content, or switch to BM if you so desire, but what gives you the right to say I have to go petless in solo content?
You are getting what you want, something you could have gotten without affecting others, How about you show some empathy to others?
I mean for ones like me, the pet, for solo content, could have the following happen to it:
- no pet abilities beyond the basics (attack based on pet type, growl, cower, ext. no lust, no MS, no CC, etc).
- the pet is randomly called from the stable on entering combat, and disappears once combat ends, again, only if solo
More or less, the pet for an MM hunter becomes nothing more then a hunting companion, no need for anything fancy and the hunter gets everything they are getting anyway.

No, I can’t. Devs have shown they are incapable of managing both. So now we get the petless version. Regarding “empathy” you’re the one who started replying to me with a disingenuous comment about BM having no weapons, to which I said sure lmk when it happens.
yet all the naysayers are crying that the change is being made because of M+/raiders and tHe cAsUaLs will suffer when in reality we will finally get a coherent spec design.
what’s coherent about a random eagle? if they said they were adding lone wolf versions of pet utility it would be the same thing.

and this would likely be welcomed with open arms, and would be a way for them to balance both specs.
and with how Blizzard works, some things need to be started before PTR when they might be able to change thigns close to the end, instead of brining it up close to the end and it takeing fixes and minor patches to take care of.

LOL, mate, you cant have it both ways. Blizz are doing this. That part is done. Most of this thread is actually pointless.
They are either doing it because
- RP purposes. I’ve addressed that. It’s their Lore they can call the RP whatever they like
- Balance purposes. Again addressed. Bliz are being lazy. It’s too hard to balance with a pet for them. Sure, you can think it’s easy. Hell, you can even code it for them for free. But they have still decided it’s too hard
Sure, we can complain about it. But to justify their position, the Pro Pet Faction is going to need to give something better than “I’ll miss my pet”
EDIT - and btw, I think we need to stop calling/referring the idiot Eagle thingy as a pet. It’s not. It’s a game effect. Think of it as a Golem at best.
