Please don’t remove Hunter pets

Er. People utilize dogs for hunting everything from deer to birds.

You do not want them spooking your target and this is why hunters train their animals specifically for the target they are hunting.

Hounds for example are typically exhaustion hunters. They will lead you along a path while running your target to its limit at which point you will pin it and finish it off. They do this by announcing themselves with their bays and constantly “hounding” that animal to its death.

Pointers are a different kind of animal. Locking on to a target and “pointing” it out to their master while ceasing movement and never making a noise.

Just a few examples.

When did they remove pets before?

They tried removing pets from MM during the BfA PTR. Lone Wolf would have been an ability learned at level 10 that prevented summoning pets. They ended up changing their minds before going live.

Here is a link from WoWhead, denoting changes to the pre-patch PTR dated 6-Feb-2018.

It was this Change that reflected the Lone Wolf Ability removing access to pets, to allowing the option again.
“Lone Wolf Increases your damage by 18%, but you can no longer use Call Pet.only when you do not have your pet out.

if you want to play marks you shouldn’t have a pet, the eagle is fine get over it.

Lone wolf blocked summoning pets for all of Legion.

Lone wolf, even within Legion, was still an option for the player.

Link is to the Hunters class Guide made for legion last updated on 12-Aug-18.

Nope. Not going to happen.

It did. It was also an optional talent choice at level 15.

Sounds like it’s a change they’ve wanted for a while, and now they have the time and data to implement it properly.

I love the results of inspecting every hunter’s armory that is for the change compared to every “hunter” that is against the change, very amusing revelations just through that.

Changed like they listened to feedback before and they will again.

They also wanted to kill flying for awhile. They keep trying but keep having to give it back.

Or not. We still have the PTR to go through.

Me being willing to use an optional talent does not mean that I’m for removing that choice.

Neither have you.
I can wait as long as it takes for you to refute me with your facts.

See now you are just parroting was Phen said lol.

But it is what you do. You say nonsense. Wait for someone else to reply, then copy/paste their reply.

If it wasn’t popular, why has the talent remained in-game for 10 years?
And if it wasn’t popular, why are they making it baked in?

It’s been said countless times in this almost 3k post thread.

This isn’t a court of law. I studied criminal justice for several years. Tbh it’s a flawed system in that one party can claim this ridiculous stance of “NOU! You have the burden of proof! I can just sit here holding my breath, calling you a liar and I don’t have to support my stance at all!”

It’s stupid and hypocritical.

That is how that works.
If it meant that much to you, you wouldn’t care about meta.

I do that on several toons.
Just because you follow the meta, doesn’t mean you are going to perform better than not. You have a higher chance of performing better, but will you? Likely not.
Which is why it’s usually recommended to play what you enjoy over meta as you will perform better if you enjoy it vs forcing yourself to play meta just because.

It’ll be shown as true come 11.1 when pets are poof.

People also run it just to not have a pet to deal with.
I used it for that reason. More damage was a bonus.

I despise having a macro for almost every ability I have to control my pets as much as possible. So they aren’t running all over the place or wasting time getting to my target.
And if I make a new hunter. I have to remake all those macros again.

Citation needed.

You don’t know this. You can’t back this up. Just because it happened once, doesn’t mean it will happen again.
Surv never went back to ranged. Combat never returned.
Dks eventually got 2h frost back, but dw and 2h have been horrendously balanced since. One always out performs the other.
Bm is returning to 1-2 pet options.
Frost mage lost their elemental and has yet to regain it.

Things come and go. Sometimes they make a return. Other times, the changes become permanent and continue to get expanded upon. Warlock losing meta and becoming a pet class is one such thing. Now you can have 30+ imps at once, 2 fel guards, 3 hounds, and 3 new boss type summons thanks to hero talents.

I was pointing out the hypocrisy in their posts. Mans has been trying to shut down those happy with no pet for awhile now.

They want the “choice”, even if they are still going to follow meta lol.

actually I was more discussing about people who actually play the spec to a level where pressing buttons matters vs. people who solely do content you can complete by auto attacking (spec matters literally zero for you I am sorry to tell you that fact) but yes now that you bring it up that is also very hilarious.

Hot take: In general, no spec should have more than one pet on the board, and one stationary NPC near them for some cooldown window maybe. Pets and demons have caused WAY too many shenanigans, they extend player control way too much beyond what should be possible in current day PvP. They’re extremely toxic to deal with. This also goes for the new totem talents. Ability effects should come FROM the player character ONLY, so that they can be negated - CC’ed, LoS’ed etc as with all other abilities.

To use in outdoor content lol

We’ve said this MANY times.

Could you get any less genuine?

Why is it that If a player doesn’t do the toxicity of M+, or do raiding… They spontaneously are just “Auto-attacking” and don’t matter?

And exactly, how is having that choice currently… The bad thing? Cause thats the connotation I’m inferring you meant here.

When a player knows, If I’m MM, because of the stupid way Blizzard has it set up, if I want to attempt to do anything high level I MUST have this, Why would they not have it? Even if they do enjoy having their pets out for other activities?

You have tar trap, concussive shot. disengage, binding shot… and several other abilities.

You don’t need a pet to kill things. This just screams I don’t know how to cc or I just want to be lazy.

If it is factually inferior, why keep it around because “choice”? It makes no logical sense. I’d rather them remove the “choice” and improve the rest of the spec as a whole instead of continually trying to balance the 2 conflicting things.
