Good, get rid of them for MM. Aside from maybe some solo open-world content pets on MM were completely useless for group content while Lone Wolf existed.
If they were using a pet all the time they were doing that anyway?
Thank god the rest of us, the majority, don’t use your completely useless Lone Wolf in our world content.
Tell me how BM can cast abilities like Aimed Shot and Kill Shot. You’re just here to babble nonsense. This whole “just play a different spec” garbage is just dismissive and condescending behavior.
Mhmm sure, playing MM in any sort of group content while having a pet out unless it’s needed for lust is actively trolling.
Some fights aren’t worth fighting. If someone is immune to arguments, arguing is useless. Time is on our side. Time, and Blizzard. Can’t wait to get my Spotter Eagle marking targets for me to pew pew. When the patch hits, I think I’ll cast petless Lust/Hero as the first thing to celebrate.
arguing is useless.
That’s for sure. Especially against smug hateful people who despise compromise.
You. That’s who I’m talking about. Just in case you didn’t get the hint.
That’s for sure. Especially against smug hateful people who despise compromise.
At least you admit it. Congrats!
It’s crazy to think that it took 10 years using Lone Wolf to finally get a full spec toolkit. A really long battle nears its end.
I’ve offered multiple compromises. You’ve offered nothing but doom and gloom.

Unfortunately I am very stubborn.
Can’t wait to get my Spotter Eagle marking targets for me to pew pew. When the patch hits, I think I’ll cast petless Lust/Hero as the first thing to celebrate
Tbh I can’t wait to try all the changes and yea, not have a pet to use hero is huge.
I’ve offered multiple compromises. You’ve offered nothing but doom and gloom
Offering what? Keep the thing and magically balance it or keep it and not balance it? Both options are bad because it’s just inferior period.
Pointing that out isn’t “doom and gloom”, it’s being realistic. The sky isn’t falling because pets are going away from 1/3 specs.
Would you like to have the choice? Yea. Is it realistic? No.
Tell me how BM can cast abilities like Aimed Shot and Kill Shot. You’re just here to babble nonsense. This whole “just play a different spec” garbage is just dismissive and condescending behavior.
I’m here to try and make you see where the devs are coming from, especially with them having explained their position. That you refuse to do so is on you.
You can’t call someone a liar and fail to refute it with anything other than “nah uh”.
When did I ever call you a liar?
I merely stated that as a response to your response. They had stated they hadn’t seen any proof, and you said many existed.
You are the one stating the fact that they exist, and when asked for proof you did not produce it. Instead stating for them to find it on your behalf. That’s not how that works.
I also don’t know how a guide for the spec, which of course is currently going to state “take LW” is going to proof that many players have been requesting the removal of all pets for a long time.
especially with them having explained their position.
They’ve “explained their position” on removing pets before, but we still have them. Stop acting like the patch has already gone live instead of waiting for the PTR to even start.
When did I ever call you a liar?
I never said you did.
You are the one stating the fact that they exist, and when asked for proof you did not produce it. Instead stating for them to find it on your behalf. That’s not how that works.
If I fail to find proof in the matter that you demand, surely you can provide some to show otherwise, no?
I also don’t know how a guide for the spec, which of course is currently going to state “take LW” is going to proof that many players have been requesting the removal of all pets for a long time.
If people WANTED pets, they would use them regardless of bis to prove a point. The fact that over 10 years, blizz hasn’t done away with lone wolf and are actually baking it into the spec show the direction the players are going and how the spec is being played.
I don’t know why this has to be said in black and white for it to be seen as true.
Every major guide for years has used lone wolf. I haven’t grouped with a single mm hunter that has used a pet for anything other than hero.
They’ve “explained their position” on removing pets before, but we still have them.
And they are doing it again. Strange.
Stop acting like the patch has already gone live instead of waiting for the PTR to even start.
I mean you can talk about wanting them to stay, but others can’t talk about why they are leaving?
Seems pretty hypocritical.
Keep the fight going, my man. I got tired of 20 of us arguing with the same 3-4 of them over the same talking points. With the occasional other poking their head in with their 2c.
Their mind will never change because they dont care about compromising and listening to other options. Options that both sides could live with. To them, it’s their way only. It’s the devs we need to see this. And all these posts and megathreads are how change happens.
So keep it up. Let our voices be heard. They can do the changes and keep the pets…
If it’s a baseline class feature, and there’s no damage loss for doing it, MM becomes a pet spec again, and running no pet becomes the deceptive wrong choice.
Legit never said that though.
If people WANTED pets, they would use them regardless of bis to prove a point. The fact that over 10 years, blizz hasn’t done away with lone wolf
People have wanted their pets, and have been using them regardless. Especially even today. My Hunter is MM, but I purposefully do not have the LW minor ability selected as I like to play MM with my pet. Regardless of how “not effective” or how many guides generated for players state for me to have it.
For the past 10 years it has remained an option for players, because the last time they attempted to straight up remove pets from the Spec they received such a backlash they had to back down and ditch that attempt. This happened within BfA’s pre-patch ptr
As you can see within that link, this very, very same conversation happened. The people who pushed for LW to become the static, and those who wished to retain their pets. The people wishing to retain their pets won out as Blizzard instead made it the current rendition, where it is a talent node selected. but still gives the player the option of having their pet.
History is repeating itself in this regard.
A hunting rifle and a sniper rifle are exactly the same thing.
Prove me wrong. I’ll wait. Give me your evidence proving otherwise.
People choosing lone wolf because it’s meta and people supporting the removal of pets as an option for MM are not the same thing.
You have not given a source for the latter. I am waiting.
Prove me wrong
The burden of proof remains on you as you made the claim.
They’re not just doing that because of Lust though. They want MM to have a different class fantasy overall, much like they did with Survival going into Legion.
Interestingly a survival hunter can still equip a bow even though it’s sub-optimal.
Do I need to start linking guides, quoting posters and screenshoting random hunters builds?
Which one of those will show majority of hunters support removing pets from MM? People choosing a petless meta option doesn’t change anything. Cuz if having a pet was meta it would also be choosed. All you prove is people follow a meta. Not that people want pet removed.
Aside from maybe some solo open-world content pets on MM
Which is exactly why it should stay.
Offering what? Keep the thing and magically balance it or keep it and not balance it? Both options are bad because it’s just inferior period.
False. Keep pet for solo/open world content. Same reason blueberry exists for warlock.
s it realistic? No.
Why not? You’ve yet to give a single way it would be harmful to allow MM to keep their pets for solo content.
I’m here to try and make you see where the devs are coming from, especially with them having explained their position. That you refuse to do so is on you.
And we’re here trying to say how we can ALL get what we want.
If you don’t want to use a pet as MM keeping it as an option for solo play literally will not effect you.
Stop acting like the patch has already gone live instead of waiting for the PTR to even start.
Even if the patch HAD gone live. Feedback doesn’t become irrelevent.
I’ve said before. MM will get their pets back if they lose it. I’m just trying to prevent a mistake from happening again. Because they will inevitably backtrack and cause frustrating to some players.
If I fail to find proof in the matter that you demand, surely you can provide some to show otherwise, no?
That’s not how that works.
If I say that there is an invisible and intangible banana floating 5 inches away from your body at all time. It is not your job to prove me wrong. Or to provide evidence against my statement. My statement is not assumed true until you prove me wrong.
Burden of proof lies on the person making the claim.
“What can be claimed without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence”. No evidence of a counter claim is required when the original claim is invalid.
If people WANTED pets, they would use them regardless of bis to prove a point.
That’s not how that works.
And we’re talking about optional pets, mostly to use in outdoor content. Not using pets as part of the meta.
But also many players chase the meta. Anyone looking up a guide is looking for meta. Like AT BEST you might get from a guide “as much as I love my pet, it’s a straight dps loss not to use lone wolf”.
I don’t know why this has to be said in black and white for it to be seen as true.
It’ll be shown as true with proof. Stating the same thing over and over again doesn’t make it true. If that were the case a handful of weirdos would’ve turned the planet flat.
how the direction the players are going and how the spec is being played.
It’s going that way because since LW was added it’s been the meta option. Scenario: Blizzard keeps LW as is. But gives another talent option next to it called “beastial companionship” that increases damage by 15% when you have a pet out. Which do you think will be taken? which do you think would become meta?
(I am not saying I want this change. I’m just using it as an example to prove a point. I still think pets should mostly exist for out-door content)
At this point “People must hate pets, because they take LW instead of pets” would be a self-fufilling prophecy caused by blizzard themselves by making LW objectively superior to pets.
And they are doing it again. Strange.
And they’ll reverse course again.
It’s history repeating itself. Blizzard is addicted to repeating mistakes. They’re doing the same thing with flying.
I mean you can talk about wanting them to stay, but others can’t talk about why they are leaving?
Seems pretty hypocritical.
Who is saying you aren’t allowed to talk?
