Heh, baby steps. I wanna make sure the Eagle works before I even care about what it looks like. For all we know the sucker will dive bomb the group tank and interrupt him or something else stupid on release.

But they also want Delves to be a new end-game pillar, which can be done solo. And making MM harder to do solo content on seems a bit short-sighted.

Considering that the Generic Eagle Pet #7 all MM hunters are receiving to align with Blizzards vision of having All Hunter specs have pets again, I don’t see the issue as to why it has to be this generic eagle pet and can’t be our normal pets instead.

Yes, if they want Delves to be their new End Game Pillar you are 99% correct. But since we don’t even know what the new mechanics will do, I’d hold off judgement on how it will work. For all we know, this eagle will crap on the ground and tar trap everybody every 15 seconds.
Better than figuring out balancing. Tbh I’d rather they just remove the pets altogether and make hero “Rangers Vigor” or something like that lol.

idk, I think it’s better for the game if MM Hunter actually just leans into its Lone Wolf identity and gets Bloodlust without needing a pet.
If you wanna use pets, just play BM or Survival. And we all know that if you’re a Hunter you’re playing BM anyway, because it is the second most popular spec in the game behind Ret Paladin (and both of them combined make up like a third or more of all WoW players).
The current development notes have a whole lot of new damage abilities or changes to existing ones, but there are currently very few mentions of survivability changes. So if they have any further ideas, they haven’t shared them with us yet.

The screech on Rapid Fire for the hero talent was annoying af. But the whole thing is annoying AF. I hope they see all these posts and realize how much they f’d up and walk this back. Doing this at all is garbage, but changing a spec entirely mid expansion is rancid garbage.

People are just arguing back and forth. Most of it isn’t constructive.
If I was a dev, I’d ignore these forums lol.
But they can also see stats and talent usage across the board. So they don’t really need the forums for this kind of change.
Eh I disagree. I think they should make changes like this more often for all classes and specs.
Major patches are the perfect opportunity to make changes and balance things.
Also not a fair comparison. A fair comparison would be making survival melee and being told to play bm or mm lol.
This is just removing dead weight, which unfortunately is pets.
People really need to stop saying this. If we wanted to play those specs, we would already be doing this. The reason we arent is because we dont want to. We are enjoying MM right now as it is. Its like removing Shadow and being told to go play Affliction Warlock instead.

And it is a fair comparison. They replace shadow and then someone tells you if you dont like it, play something else with a similar play style that youre not playing because you dont want to…
The pet is not dead weight. Would like to see you face tank a rare with 30 million health in area with no kiting room.

Except they aren’t replacing MM. They’re replacing a nearly useless feature of MM with something useful.

Every other non pet class does this.
The pet serves no purpose in the mm rotation and it doesn’t attribute much of anything other than a situational tank or hero.
And it’s damage is so low, people take a 5% increase from lone wolf over it.
Removing the pet from mm won’t hinder it’s gameplay at all aside from maybe HOW you play content like delves going forward.
It’s not deleting an entire spec like you are insinuating.
They are also implementing A LOT of really good changes along with the pet removal. It’s not just a #deletepets update.

(to sump up, they had months to prepare the hero talents, but they give MM a whole rework killing the pet on .1 instead of just make it a hero way and give people the choice, and, dunno, call it “dark ranger” ?)
