Please Don’t Nerf Solo Delves

And have to talk to people? In an MMO? You’re wildin

Yes. I don’t know how to explain this in text, but take the boss in a circle. You only need to be far enough away that the aoe doesn’t hit you. Don’t run so far ahead that it then can cut off the path and it reduces his path.

Like I said, it may be easiest to just use the rock. There’s enough room if you circle the rock that you can have enough distance from him/the aoe when it goes off. And I find he most times gets “stuck” so he’s slower going around the rock.

Yeah, I should’ve worded it better: It’s not that some specs can’t beat them, but that there’s a vast difference in the difficulty of doing so, in a way that doesn’t feel intentional. Like the issues that healers have with aggro and failing to meet DPS checks because Brann isn’t doing enough for them.

Healers have dps, but I’m pretty sure many healers don’t know how to dps.

And healers can take damage too, just heal yourself.

And what dps checks are there?

I’ll start by saying, I don’t play a Priest, (it’s been a few years) so if I’m wrong on any of these fronts, I apologize.

Priest have Silence and Petrifying Scream don’t they? If you don’t want them to run. Otherwise if you just have fear, you could back track and fear them where they aren’t going to run into other mobs.

Obviously, Use those feathers (sprint) and PW:Shield.

Also I would think Fade would help a lot by giving Aggro to Bran instead.

On my Hunter, I’ll run around pillars if I have to so that mobs are constantly having to move if my interrupts not up yet.

I’m just sayin, don’t be afraid to run away. Some bosses actually require you to run away. Like the big beetle dude that casts stinging swarm. I just run around and avoid contact (I’m a melee hunter) , I’ll just throw bombs and attack when he goes underground. Takes little while but he’s usually not able to do any damage to me because I stay away from him, or I’ll feign so he’s looking at Bran or my pet.

Off topic- Speaking of Pets, one thing that does need fixed in Delves is Hunter Pets. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to jump off a platform (namely the cave with mushroom people) and my pet just stays up there bugged out until I dismiss it.

Some Classes definitely feel like ez mode for stuff likes Delves and others can feel like you’re playing Dark Souls in comparison.

The thing is there are a lot of players who love those “harder” classes because of the skill expression for the same reason some players want “low apm” specs, etc.

Some of the issues could be resolved by allowing at least snares and slows to work on the Bosses.

This is what I have been saying forever. We are finally getting back to basics and not just facerolling content :yellow_heart:

If you want to keep uptime, you can pretty much stand directly underneath him and continue attacking. The circles are spaced out enough to where they provide a safe zone. Just be ready to move if he also cleaves while you’re under there.

After doing heroic dungeons it really really felt like that. Finally content that was not just a mad rush to the end. Then I ran out of keys and tried LFR and it was a mad rush again. :joy:

Oh, so that’s what heroics are like when good players are no longer there.

Dodging mechs that do significant damage is great design.

Having a pack of mobs all hitting for around mil each on their auto attacks or casts is not.

I’ve cleared solo 8’s on 4 different classes and the same delve for sub rogue vs death knight is a night and day difference, and my rogue has much better gear but the delve took twice as long and I barely was able to complete.

I get my keys from world bosses and world soul events. I refuse to touch dungeons or LFR without my guild.

Non-bountiful 8s still have a chance to drop Delver’s Bounty and Runed Harbinger Crests, so it’s not a waste to stick to delves. You can skip LFR! I’m rerunning the delves I need for achievements and crests.

I did not know that. Thanks!

There may be more efficient means to get the crests, but I like that this is another option!

its either they make this solo content completable by everyone, or they nerf your class to be in line with everyone else for solo-ability, on top of tuning the delves anyways. pick your poison.

I agree with this 100%. Please nerf them a bit or so, Blizzard.

Delves are the best solo content that everyone runs in a group that Blizzard have made yet!

Very few things are Equal. My hunter doesn’t heal himself as well as a Priest. I can’t face tank like my DK or Warrior can. I (Surv Hunter) don’t have the burst my Monk does, and certainly not that a Mage does. I use my class the best way I can, sometimes that means running away and fighting. Maybe a Mage can just blow everything apart before they can do any real damage.

Not to mention, player skill. Every player has their own skill level. Even if it’s the “same”, one player would be better at a certain class than another. Some people are better problem solvers or finding creative solutions.

I noticed on the Delve where you free Kobalds from webs, that you can see the fire from their candle coming through the web, so I avoided opening the wrong ones and having to fight additional mobs. Or that the one with the flame thrower, that the flame thrower was doing more DPS than I was at the time, so I used that to kill everything…

Anyways I think my point was that you can’t just make all content able to be soloed by anyone, regardless of skill or their ilvl. If that’s the case, not only would it be uninteresting, but the gear would be meaningless because it would just be free gear. May as well just mail it to everyone.

Yet delves were advertised as solo content, and let’s face the fact that there is very little end game solo content that actually provides ilvl increases in this game.

At worst, delves should be providing WQ players ilvl increases in a way they can actually do.

I don’t know why anyone worries about what gear other players have, especially if they aren’t competing in the same content. The biggest issues in game design for this game is trying to make content that both well geared/high skill level players and poorly geared/less skilled players are supposed to share. it’s always overtuned for the less gear players, and undertuned for the well geared players. Delves are no exception to this, and that’s unfortunate.
