In PVP when in combination with tanks , they are unbearable. Neither the tank nor the Aug is killable
Maybe the players shouldn’t be all perpetually unga-bunga bUt ThE dAmAgE mEtErS.
We finally have a unique playstyle in the game and we might never get another one because nobody understands anything that isn’t DPS.
I like how one spectrum of the thread thinks they are too weak, while the other thinks they are gonna need to be nerfed.
They need to be nerfed. Free healing and tank survivability at no dps cost.
It really depends on your comp. They buff everyone’s damage by alot. Especially guardian druids : 3. So if everyone is good as then its a whole ton of damage. IF you are buffing bad players, then that’s like mediocre damage.
Its very good for premades this way. But yea it falls flat if someone dies or something.
I did a normal Algethar Academy on my Aug Evoker.
I found it interesting and very different . I’m like a weak healer and it’s fun to cast Ebon Might and see damage increases. My own DPS wasn’t great but it’s nice to have a root ability, breath of eons, and upheaval.
Still learning prescience and just the overall rotation. I’ve been melee for years. So, playing a caster is strange as well as frustrating in terms of proximity to cast a spell.
The class has nice mobility compared to my DK. Also, a lot more chance to interrupt is nice
… what? There’s absolutely a cost.
I think I saw somewhere that the shield was literally bugged and is being hotfixed already. And more nerfs can follow if they’re needed.
If Aug contribute similar DPS to a direct DPS spec then they shouldn’t also have better-than-direct-DPS utility. Many DPS can provide some group survivability (spriest has fort, shaman has totems, ret has aura, lock has healthstones, lots of classes can throw a few heals before they OOM, I think mage just got a CD to throw their shield on everyone?) but it sounds like Aug’s may be excessive.
At the very least, Blizzard should look at it. But they’ve already said they would have Aug under a microscope for the rest of this season.
What cost?
It actually makes sense and is the exact issue Augmentation Evokers cause.
They’re either going to be awful and a net negative to the group, or they’re going to amplify already amazing players to be God like. That’s what happens when the spec is % based off the rest of the party.
Virtually every single +28/+29 M+ right now has an Aug.
But if you pair that same Aug with players down in the +10-+14 range it would just be a lot better to have a SPriest/Fire Mage.
You have to invite the Aug based on the perceived performance the other two DPS can pull off.
Best case scenario for Aug is every single group needs it. In which case we’re now looking for 4 roles in a M+. Tank, Healer, Aug and DPS. Sounds fun.
Worst case is no group will take it.
The chances of finding a nice middle ground? Slim to none.
Do you play the spec? Because it sure doesn’t sound like it. If I’m healing, I ain’t DPSing. The DPS spec to do more DPS removes some of the utility in order to upkeep decent damage. Not great, not Devoker level, but decent. And to heal, that means I’m not DPSing. So I’m not sure where you think I can heal and DPS at the same time. I’m also not sure where you’re getting this concept that Aug is heals and DPS.
Aug is fun if your other dps are good.
Otherwise eh… you have issues.
ebon might = free healing.
That has no cost. Waltzed into some +22s and timed them.
I was actually surprised that the holy trinity isn’t shaken up with a 4th support class option.
It’s just listed as another DPS
Talents give free heals sometimes for augment.
And ebon might in m+ gives pretty much everyone extra stats.
Yep.
I saw a post on reddit of a compilation of screen shots of people raging at their Evokers for doing 20/30/40k DPS lol
But in their defense, a lot of players don’t follow Dev blogs and stuff, and they see it listed as a DPS spec.
It was never under threat.
If anything, its a holy quartet.
Ebon Might isn’t a heal. So no, I’m not healing with it.
that’s being obtuse.
It buffs healer’s healing significantly.
Depending on the build. The more DPS-oriented ones I’ve seen for M+ don’t take the EB talent.
Then don’t claim I’m the one healing. Your wording was way off. Don’t get insulting with me, because you were vague. Not even discussing this with you anymore now.
