Player -A- makes a choice when faced with the game. The choice is to spend time and get gear and tasty treats. Then another choice to take that twinked out time investment and frolic happily in w/e PvP bracket they’ve chosen.
Player -B- has the same opportunity to play the same way, to make the same choices. It’s equality at its finest. But player -B- does not. Player -B- chooses to go into the bg @ lvl 10, in greys and is perplexed when he/she is wtf pwned. Player B then calls for change on the grounds of fairness, accessibility, balance, compassion etc…
Player B will cry for change rather than better their character…will cry foul rather than put in the time. Player B will do this at 60 as well. Player B will not enjoy vanilla PvP very much.
It’s not the standard. That’s why they’re so powerful.
People don’t make and play twinks to be “standard.”
Exactly. I’ll never understand this entitled attitude of trying to ruin the game for the people who actually put in the effort.
It’s not that fewer people were queuing; it’s that BGs started giving experience and the only way to stop that was to disable your XP, and the only people who did that were twinks.
The same number of people were doing BGs, if not more, but the people who wanted to stay in a level bracket were separated from those who didn’t.
More specifically, they like to cry about things they could easily fix by just putting in some effort.
^ No one can classify / quantify what a twink is because there’s no way to turn experience off. There’s no experience gain in BG’s so everyone enters on equal footing. That is, no one is in the BG for the purpose of leveling because you literally can’t.
I think a lot of people who never played vanilla don’t know this. There’s zero exp gain from BGs.
Good point. That Naxx geared player who one-shots lesser geared players is no different than a twink.
A level cap is a level cap. End Game is end game. Twinks simply choose a different level as endgame. Then they invest time in getting the best gear available to them.
The fundamental difference is that 60 is end game for everyone, for most people 19 is not end game and they don’t treat it as such. Twinks know this and solely choose this bracket because they are are bad at PvP and just want easy wins.
This is you projecting and not attempting to look at any side of the argument except your own.
Some people twink for the reason you suggested.
Some people twink because they got jumped by a twink and said “Damn, I want to be as strong as that guy” so they actually put some effort into their character.
Some people just want to see how strong they can make a character before leveling out of the pvp bracket.
Some people want to see if they can self fund a twink.
Some people want to see how far they can push the limits.
To suggest that there is only one reason people twink is disingenuous at best and trolling at worst.
The fact is that some people enjoy different aspects of this game and because you don’t enjoy it you want it taken away.
Step back for a second and think about what people are saying an what they’re asking for. They don’t want to fight against players with better gear than them. That philosophy is hard for me to even wrap my mind around. This is an rpg. That’s the very nature of the game. Is it pure entitlement that promotes that kind of mindset? Is it the influence of mobas, fps, rts where everything is an even playing field and it’s all about the sole nature of competition? Well, that’s not how an mmorpg should work. At least it shouldn’t be.
And the trolls criticizing twinkers as terrible players continues to be hysterical. It’s just a completely weak and meaningless argument. They don’t need to justify their preferred playstyle.
Let’s say you’re right. Let’s say twinks just want to win battlegrounds. How is that different than someone getting PvP BiS at 60 and rolling only with premades?
Or better yet. Let’s say your right. Let’s say twinks just want to win battlegrounds. Isn’t you plan for removing them for regular BGs besides just making it easier for you to win battlegrounds?
Screw it. Let’s say you’re right. Let’s say twinks just want to win battlegrounds. No crap. That’s literally the point. Who queues for WSG thinking “I’m here for a good time let’s not worry about the score”. Everyone doing battlegrounds is trying to win. It’s competitive. It’s supposed to be competing to win. They’re better at it. So they get to win more. That’s all it is.
