A fresh lvl 60 can reasonably be expected to spend some time at level 60 to run around AV getting rep gear and 5-man blues and get slightly less wrecked until AQ/Naxx comes out. If you play your rock, paper, scissors right, some specs can take down a MC or so equipped raider while naked.
A R14 has put in the time to gear up their own character, and is not carried by another higher level character. Twinking necessarily means you progress forwards then backwards to gain an advantage in an earlier stage. Gearing up is just progressing forwards to gain an advantage at a later or endgame stage.
For the record, I dislike 20’s PvP once more than 20% of the players are twinks, and I dislike 60’s PvP when AQ/Naxx gear starts rolling in. 40’s/50’s is best.
Yes, because they did it in different ways. If you go full reductionism, you could say two people put in time and effort to get gold, but people are unhappy about people who buy gold with cash but not people who just farmed in game.
They have stated that this is to be how original wow was regarding game play an all! Hazzikostas has stated this includes things that are NOT the best game design.
So i guarantee if Twinking was a thing in 1.12, according to their scope, Twinking will be a thing.
Vanilla was not a perfect game, therefore dont expect perfection in classic, some things will be ‘broken’ intentionally.
Can’t wait to hear:Get gear scrub! Fresh 60’s don’t belong in bg’s. Go run some dungeons.
You’re right because they are carried by a whole team and some will collude other players/guilds of the same faction and even the opposition. Essentially allowing players to pick next week’s winner? Win trading. Yea. I’d say it’s worse. You will not get rank 14 solo. Good luck and God speed trying. You can get it if your server and team allows it though.
It feels like the same people who are pro-twinking in retail are going to be the same ones polluting classic. i saw someone say “blizzard is going to ruin classic.” Not really. It will be the players drooling over making the game less fun for others. And they think their queues are long now!
“I find a reason to disregard data and that makes me right.”
Oh boy.
Twinking in retail? I didn’t get BfA, but I thought it wasn’t a thing anymore.
If you mean Classic, then you don’t understand the purpose behind them making these servers in the first place.
“Making the game less fun for others” is the nature of world PvP and winning loot over someone; stop using this stretched logic to try and change Classic to emulate retail.
If there’s something I don’t know and misunderstood you, please let me know.
This is a complete non issue. BG’s wont be a thing until a after release (timeline currently pending). Twinks will take some time to develop. If you decide to twink in a certain bracket most people will out level the bracket within a few weeks. Why this was brought up I have no clue.
I know it’s not twinking, but as you said, it’s the same problem. Someone did more sooner and now significantly outgears you. I’ve never understood how that;s a rationale for anything and would argue that that exact situation is why Blizz screwed up so much of the progression system in WoW.
did i say that? no. i did not.
i just said that it seems those against twinking are in the minority. and all the data we have right here supports that theory.
but tell you what. you go ahead and poll every single person who plans to play classic on their thoughts on whether or not twinking should be in classic.
As opposed to…what? There’s a clear disparity either way.
If you want to make an argument, make it about people outside the forums; the point about them being a ‘majority’ of the WoW population was never made…IIRC, a point about the majority of those in this thread may have been mentioned.
Go ahead and keep understanding things in a convenient way, though.
Well no, twinking seems to be an extreme minority population. Blizzard proved that when they gave twinks their own queues and those queues died. And by extreme minority so small that they couldn’t even pop a single BG across an entire battle group.
