Please bring back mage tower weapon appearances

Shadowlands is introducing new transmog rules that allow us to equip Any artifact weapon appearances as long as it follows normal weapon transmog rules. I’d like to request that the mage tower be brought back so that I can achieve these weapon variations.

I’m one of those players who played during legion but didn’t have the time to complete the mage tower due to IRL restrictions. The mage tower was simply too difficult for me to complete with the limited amount of time I had to play. I think this is unfair that this event is no longer active and the artifact appearances from the mage tower has some of the best looking weapon transmogs in the game.

I think this event should come back and it should be just as challenging as it was before. I now have the time and I can put in the effort to achieve those skins. Please give us players who were unable due to different circumstances the chance to unlock these artifact skins.

*After some ideas posted in this thread I’d like to add mage-like tower events in the future, include the old artifact appearances but with a different color variation and add new weapon models for each spec/class, so at least those who missed the first mage-tower event can get the same weapon model but with a different color and Blizzard can add new models to the game as well. The people who achieved the original artifact appearances get to keep them as exclusives and new players can get the same model but with a different color. Win-Win?

I’m missing some mage tower appearances myself. I still feel it shouldn’t be brought back. Everyone had their chance with Ample amount of time to get it done and some people just didn’t care then. I believe they even sent out emails.

Nah. You snooze you lose.

You already can mog any ‘Artifact’. That you have. Onto any weapon. That you have.

No. Bringing back the mage tower wouldn’t be fair to those who worked for the appearances and actually played at the time.

I would rather they bring back the Pandaland Phoenix mounts… they were so purdy. Sadly though, I would still not be able to get one (unless they put it in the cash shop lol).

The problem with this is how significantly nerfed it was prior to it’s removal. I one-shot 3 of the challenges the week before it was removed.

There are a lot of folks out there who have the appearance on almost every spec, so it’s watered down as it is. Some people only got it on their mains, some did it on their alts but only on specs they play, some people did it on every spec available in the game, and others boycotted it because it was too hard for them lmao.

We don’t really need it watered down any further.

As someone with the appearances. It is less valuable an acomplishment to me that no one else can get them due to time. I would rather be one of a few to own something everyone can access but not everyone has, then to be one of a few that just got lucky because they logged in during the right expac.

They had nearly 2 years lol. It wasn’t even challenging at the end, all you had to do was talk to magni on the silithus boat and get your buff then go one-shot it.

Exclusivity breeds motivation to do things while they’re current. “The light of dawn” has absolutely no meaning anymore but in 2009/10 it was really cool to see. That title not being expansion exclusive has ruined any meaning behind it that isn’t strictly personal, and in an MMO, people are entitled to show off a bit with their hard-to-get exclusive achievements/items/mounts.

I wouldn’t care either way but your best bet is to instead encourage Blizzard to make new weapons that look as awesome (with some sweet effects like druid forms).

I think Rarity is false value, no one cares if you have something other people don’t.

Not anymore. With $15 and a face to roll you can get everything. This wasn’t always the case, but sentiments stated above made it so.

Well, that’s false lol. Some people didn’t know WoW existed at that time.

If you didn’t play WoW in Legion, you don’t get the Legion rewards.

Imagine that

Not to mention that in order to get these artifact appearances, the weapons themselves would still need to have the power they had b/c those fights were geared around what those weapons could do.

Obviously that isn’t possible b/c we fused our weapons with the Sword of Sargeras, and the weapons were no more…outside of the appearances we worked to obtaining.

I would not be opposed to Blizz putting in a form of Challenge Mode/Mage Tower type event each xpac however. They provided a lot of time spent in game instead of aimlessly waiting for a new xpac to go live. Not to mention they’re fun, and this is a type of solo content that ppl don’t have to rely on others to be able to do.

However, these types of things are limited time objectives, and it’s unfortunate that some ppl cannot for whatever reason be able to obtain any of these event rewards, but I do not agree that the MT, or the MoP challenge rewards should be brought back b/c ppl weren’t able to do them.

That would be like any other “limited time offer” availability. Not everyone will be fortunate enough to get these things for many reasons.

no they should create new ones.

I didn’t know WoW existed in 2004, When I started playing.

I missed a bunch of stuff. Can you give it all to me please? It’s been 16 years, I am sure that stuff is lying around somewhere collecting dust.

Gif, me, now.

I believe you’re right, I just simply couldn’t put in the time. Really a big bummer as I really like those skins but now it’s impossible to get. The event could come back in some form for players like me to get them. It’s been over 2 years now. Never understood the reason to make things exclusive.

A limited objective like the MT via torghast would be amazing. We don’t have to farm currency to activate Torghast (thank god), but I’d love to see something that is limited and allows players to really try and unlock some cool things for their characters that are exclusive to the challenge.

I’d kill for my hunter or paladin to have the MoP challenge mode gear, but I didn’t play in MoP due to college getting in the way and so I didn’t have the chance. Every time I see a paladin run by wearing that gear I get a little salted and jealous, so you bet I went and did that mage tower on every single alt I had lmao.

Because the challenge was designed for players back then. It would be impossible to retroactively reimplement these towers and maintain the integrity of the challenge. That’s why. You didn’t complete the challenge, you didn’t get the reward. Just like with any contest, you don’t get to decide you wished you would have competed after it’s over, then turn to the company and say “Hey, you need to bring this back, I missed my chance and it isn’t fair”. Just silly.
