Well thought out, the player base who wants these versions of the game only want it to succeed. I honestly believe they would and it wouldn’t hurt Blizzard to put out an Era BC or Wrath server.

Because Blizz has a very annoying habit of looking at all the options, then picking the ONE that will annoy the most people all at once.
Dunno, but i DO know people that unsubbed and never went back when LK progression was forced on BC servers.

WELL there are ways to make it profitable. for one, dont add store boosts or wow tokens. instead add things that dont effect player power, to the store, such as an ethereal transmogifier toy and era cosmetics, such as kael’thas tempest keep garb as recolors, illidan tats as recolors and so on. tbc mounts, like eversong cougar, bloodmyst moth, etc, maybe even tcg mounts. a barbershop toy that allows height modification, some new hairstyles and eyecolors. and all of it, also available as world drops and boe so you can sell them on the ah if you find them
they could make alot of money off this if done right, because the amount of potential cosmetics is huge, even cosmetics for your hunter, mage or lock pets, cosmetics where you look like favorite npc races such as ogres, naga, gnolls, murloc, broken, eredar, ethereals. and so on
since the request is standalone perma tbc server, it wouldnt effect vanilla or wrath, and add interest without deprivation or injected player power

well all it is is tbc centered mounts and cosmetics, like the effect you get from orb of deception, orb of sindorei, the ogre disguise from dire maul, the potions that increase your size and nogginfogger elixir that shrinks you, turns you into a skeleton, totem of hook and claw that turns you into a furbolg, pirate and ninja costume from deviant fish, and so on. also the idea of being able to look like illidan with illidans tats recolored or kael’thas cool tempest keep robe recolored and etc, its just pure fun. notice the bulk of those were vanilla. tbc just had the orb of sindorei, i think. it could benefit from more fun items

If a minuscule amount of people came back and/or stayed around after Cata is released, it would pay for the server. Anything above that and the server would be in the black.
A TBC server is not going to break profit records for Blizzard. But it will keep customers in the Blizzard ecosystem and help prevent the loss of paying customers. Throw up one TBC server and make a few thousand players happy.
I agree, for the most part. I’d be okay with boosts after about 90 days of the server going live (or whatever time limit), and paid character changes. I also have a soft spot for the Achievement system, but I doubt Blizzard would ever put that in, so that is just a dream anyway.

Well there might be some re-subs especially from those quitting after wrath is replaced. But the real money is in the token and well there are items in tbc which are seen as money makers the glaives and the legendary bow.

There needs to be at least 1 pvp, and 1 pve server, or just 1 server for each classic expansion, my destiny is with TBC and would love a server for it. There are so many Vanilla servers and not one TBC server, and they are getting rid of Wotlk servers which also sucks for those who enjoy that version of the game.

Throwing out my support for a Forever TBC server. It’s funny, I remember back in 2008 during the original launch of wrath wanting to go back to TBC. Here I am all these years later hoping for the same thing. The only way to play TBC right now is through a private server, and that’s a shame. A TBC era server would keep me subbed forever. Come on blizzard, take my money.
