I would LOVE a fresh progression TBC server

TBC requires a gigantic population to run the billion dungeons required just to play the game
Unless ofc they remove all the attunements and rep requirements
well then at that point wtf is the point of playing TBC.

So heres a great answer for you. No.

TBC does not deserve the status of having a permanent era server :expressionless: simple as.

Blizzard has the data, if a permanent TBC server was viable they would have done it already. it just isn’t, and no amount of forum whining is gonna change that.

I have serious doubts that a TBC era server would be able to sustain a population, but it doesn’t seem harmful to give it a try. If it dies then they can close it and it will be clear why.

don’t pretend that D4 isn’t crap compared to D2 :expressionless:

it’s easy to say “give it a try” when it’s not your massive amount of resources :expressionless:
blizzard doesn’t see it as worth their time and energy.

That’s true. I wouldn’t even be playing on those servers, much less doing the work to stand them up. I would hope that having done the TBC realms before, they figured out some ways to make them less onerous to do again. Maybe that didn’t happen, though, and it’d be another big lift.

I haven’t played Diablo IV but I was never a huge fan of Diablo II, either. I loved Diablo I for its atmosphere and simplicity, both of which were lost in the sequel IMO.

I think a TBC server would be super fun. TBC was great

hey i’d pay additional sub for a perma tbc era server or an one time fee. at the very least they could introduce era servers for the first 3 games and make money by selling us era related things, like they do with classic progression and retail servers. like i’d pay real money for a tbc barbershop lol

In tbc yes, a pvp server would mean any1 leveling by questing would be at the mercy of that guy with a flying mount. And we all know once tbc arrived and people didn’t need to herb as much people would raid log which would require a larger population than some servers had to be able to pug.

that’s nice. that wouldn’t pay for the server though :expressionless:

depends how many people playing it, and considering they dont charge anything to play it, any new fees would be profit

the amount of people who would willingly pay extra for a TBC server is not as high as you think it is :expressionless:

Well we would see alot more horde but since we would probably need about over 5k players on the regular to make pugging viable having one GIGASERVER, would be the best. I mean if we put all the people who want tbc in one group it might be bigger than the population of vanilla era and we all know whats happened to it and especially after the much wanted pvp reform.

Still I think blizz might make alot of money off glaive sellers now that token is out.

they should just let the players handle the boosting. its working fine in era vanilla, right now. if they go tokens and store boosts, it’ll ruin the community vibe

I mean would not add the exp nerf and just average the levels because the selling of boosts from 8-62 in tbc was a way for paladins to make alot of money and allow for people with gdkp money something to spend it on.

That’s always been the core gameplay loop of Diablo. It’s like complaining about standing and hitting in wow. It’s quite literally the backbone of the game.
