If Blizzard was stupid enough to bring in such servers, they should make the player base put up and shut up. If the number of active players (not logged in for a month) drops below 500 the server should be shut down and all players migrated to an active cata server.
Lemme just hold one of those tbc servers
They should do that for Cata and then revert it to Wotlk or TBCđ
we need just 1 pvp and 1 pve pls blizz and the same with wrath
Adding diversity can actually increase your total customer-base thus increasing revenue. Blizz just may not want to deal with the increase in overhead costs. The increased revenue could also turn out to not be sufficient to cover additional costs.
Iâd really be down for a continuous cycle of classic (just go from Vanilla > Wrath on like a 2/3 year cycle)
I feel like a lot of people would play this, what do you guys think?
I fully Approve this VOTE YES for TBC ERA, There is millions of ERA players that love and request TBC ERA. Blizzard that is millions of dollars a month of revenue that normally you would lose because these are the player base that came back after 10-15 years to play classic because they prefer the original first 3 expansions.
Think about it Blizzard, millions of $ Dollars TBC ERA players be so happy to pay $15/month or give us TBC ERA for $20/month but common Spin-up a Cloud Server for ERA TBC PVP and PVe 2 versions done simple and easy. If you could do it for Vanilla ERA you can do TBC ERA.
Id much rather not have it progress then lose it all. I want a permanent server where my work will live on without fear of a wipe.
I think the best of both worlds (and to make the most people happy) would be to have an Era, TBC, and WotLK servers be permanent and allow for players to transfer between the servers.
You could have it operate with transfers going both ways with progression and regression. Obviously a mechanic would be needed for regression, such as compensation and/or loss of value with incompatible items/levels.
Going back to the main point, having three versions of Classic around with transfers would allow people to be on a permanent server, and it would also allow others to transfer and enjoy the progression at their own speed. Win-win!
I wouldnt mind if you could progress to the next expac, as long as each expac stayed separate, and you werent forced to move on. Some people like vanilla. Some loved TBC. I loved WOTLK when it was new, but i dont want to force my Vanilla game into LK.
One Vanilla, one TBC, one LK server, for PVE. And one of each of the 3 for PVP. Thats all.
I just watched the client intro video for Cata. Horrible. Even the realm/login screen is bad.
I am getting flashbacks. I remember how excited I was back in the day for the next WoW expansion when Cata was first coming out, and then the huge disappointment after playing it. I understand why the subs dropped back then.
And here we go again.
Couldnât agree more Stormwind towers has a dragon sitting on it, and he looks lame login screen makes no sense. Cata was the mark of ending the true Trilogy and warcraft storys and the immerse adventure game feeling⌠TBC Burning crusade and vanilla as well wOTLk where the only true classic and is what millions of people paid and willing to keep paying subscription is for classic vanilla should have cloning between the 3 wow versions, Cata is really no hype and literally seen 75% people not playing it because Blizzard get it already your costumers want TBC ERA Vanilla ERA Wotlk ERA the Trilogy and we be paying millions a dollars a month with huge fan base⌠dont lose us you regret it for your stocks and share holders investors! you guys need us and need to make TBC ERA sErver
Folks like you said the same exact thing about classic until it literally doubled the subs and folks are still playing on era even with sod and cata classic out. While i doubt a tbc era server would have the same impact yall have neen wrong on this before
This is about the only thing thatâd bring me back to WoW right now.
I can imagine running four (Vanilla, TBC, Wrath and Progression) different versions of classic would be a bit of a nightmare. Makes me wonder if they could use the tech they used to make Plunderstorm and SoD accessible on the retail and Era client respectively work for TBC and Wrath too.
I definitely would and I know everyone who Iâve talked to about that would like to as well. I think thatâs a great idea and it would keep it fresh. I would also like to add, though I would hope we would have an Era Version of the server for TBC and wrath Like we do vanilla now. That way, although the servers are progressing through for a fresh feeling Those characters get over to the permanent server where you can always work on them or stay on the permanent server if youâd like.
Yeah, this is a great proposal - I think all the tech is there to support this as well!
Because blizz forced them into LK. And some, dunno how many but TOO many, said nope, and left.
Also, when TBC came out, the vast majority of players wanted to do the next new thing and Vanilla servers were devastated. As TBC progressed and especially after WotLK came out, people trickled back into Vanilla, where it is a healthy population now.
Blizzard was afraid that when WotLK came out that the same thing would happen, as happened to Vanilla, and they would have empty servers. So they opted not to leave up TBC servers. Probably a mistake, unless they planned on putting up a server after WotLK ended (which is the present moment).
Since the re-population of Vanilla proves that people will to go back to their favorite version of the game, a TBC server should have been left up, and would most likely have been slowly building up a population over the past year or so. Blizzard has an opportunity right now with the launch of Cata to cater to a segment of their customers by opening up a TBC server and they should also put up a WotLK server too. They need all three versions of the Pre-Cata game.
TBC in hindsight of running through the classic 3 is by far the pinnacle of wow! I would like no-life a tbc fresh server. Like to see slight health buffs to raid bosses though, minus Sunwell , well because sunwell was the best raid ever
