When classic was becoming a thing all I really wanted were TBC servers. When they arrived I wasn’t able to play until months in and then, before I even reached max level, I found out that Wrath would be replacing all the servers. That completely took the wind out of my sails. TBC Classic ended up being quite a bit shorter than original TBC and even back then with so much more free time I was miles away from doing everything I wanted to do. This is my first time posting because I really hope we get a permanent TBC era with no nonsense… no boosts or level speeding, no tokens, no dungeon finder, no achievements, no messing with attunements, etc.

I am right there with you. I was highly disappointed that there wouldn’t be a TBC server.
Hopefully Blizzard sees these requests and comes around. In the end, what we really want to do is enjoy the content that they created. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to give their customers what they want.

I could get down for this as long as they don’t allow transfers. Make a fresh server and make everyone level from 1. It’s a slippery slope though because people will want their vanilla characters copied there or boosts.

This is not an issue . Many people moved to private servers wich are TBC or Wotlk only . This will make them move back here .
TBC Era and Wotlk Era it’s a WIN for everyone.

The player base is already fractured between too many different versions of wow. Every time you add another version of wow the que times become longer in another version and it gets harder to fill groups.
This has already been discussed. There are more than enough players to have a healthy TBC server without killing other content that is good. The private BC servers I hear are buggy. A commitment from Blizzard to host a TBC server would bring those people back. Players like me that have no intention of playing Cata content would be on a TBC server too. It isn’t so much fracturing the population as it is bringing players back and retaining players that don’t want Cata.

Exactly, some people Enjoy TBC more too. I honestly love the first three versions of the game and would always play them whenever I feel like I’m in that type of mood to pick between them. I think each one of them have their own special thing about them and I could Go back and play either of them.

It’s honestly really simple. Blizzard needs to make an Era server that is not going anywhere, no added boosts or any passes to buy a level 58 or whatever, monitor gdkp’s, bots, and gold buying, and don’t let anyone transfer their vanilla characters over as this server would be a permanent Era Server just like vanilla is where eventually all of the phases are out and it doesn’t progress. A server that starts fresh would be perfect as Coming from the current Era vanilla server it would already start in a bad place with the amount of gold in the game.

I find it hard to believe that they won’t throw up a TBC server, and a WotLK server after Cata launches.
It is almost free money for them to put the servers up and then enjoy the subs.

TBC classic as it came out the first time blizz did tbc classic would be amazing! Change the litter blizz! I’m itching for a fresh sandbox to play in

I think they are holding onto both of those versions of the game until even more people are itching to go back. I think eventually it will happen but it might take years. I’m thinking of this as the little idea in a glass box with a sign on the front that says “break when we need new content”.

The hype for a fresh unchanged TBC server would The absolutely unreal. Even people playing vanilla would come and play it for awhile, and they would have recurring subs just to play this version of the game, as well as bring back the players that canceled their sub because they don’t want to play era Vanilla (which is still being played by thousands of players and I am even having a blast on there still. Also, I can’t see myself not having fun on vanilla.) but for whatever reason they don’t want to play vanilla they have the other option as either hard core, which isn’t for everyone or the inevitable Cata.

People will eventually move onto something different, and become invested in that new thing if Blizzard doesn’t make a move on it soon. I see this as a window of opportunity for them, if they have the acumen to take it.

Tbh ofc I’m hoping this to be true, but in all my years of playing and I’m hopeful something else does come out as great as the first 3 trilogies of wow I honestly don’t believe there will ever be a wow killer. The old blizzard was made by nerds/gamers who literally just put their heart and soul into what they thought would be cool. It’s hard to beat a game that was made by guys who love fantasy and made it for the sole reason so they could be immersed in their own game themselves.
