" I use third-party hardware to play WoW all the time. My mouse…my monitor…my computer …
There’s no point in arguing this point; it’s been worn to the bone. A single keystroke corresponds to a single keystroke or an in-game macro in one or more clients. There is no automation, no “keycloning”. If your complaint is that they’re playing on more than one computer or client with one input device, well, I’m sorry, but you don’t get to make the rules."
But has the information or stance changed though? I mean the Declaration of Independence was written when? 1776? I’m sure nobody is alive from that era, yet what it stood for still matters now.
No more than the same number of players teaming up. 5 toons is 5 toons regardless of how many people are playing them.
And? Someone that flips on the AH or does boosting has more money than someone that doesn’t do those things. What’s the point?
I can do either of those things WITHOUT the use of third party software.
No one is saying multiboxxing should be banned itself, but third party software (that is pay to play, at that), should absolutely be getting flagged by warden.
Blizzard created a perfect storm with personal loot, and multi-tap resource nodes. Very few people cared about multiboxing before that happened. They either need to revert THOSE changes, or they need to collapse the ability to casually multibox.
I want to enjoy the shadowlands launch, not find every single spot camped by armies of moonkin, and every node depleted by swarmed of druids.
Please ban all LUA scripts. They are 3rd party automation hacks that illegally mess with the API. It’s an unfair advantage some of us can’t afford a $3000 GUI to play the game competitively.
That’s what botters do. There aren’t nearly enough multiboxers to “cause massive disruption to the in-game economy”, as if they would even want to do that since they need to earn more gold to keep buying WoW tokens.
There’s a lot of software out there that they haven’t “expressly authorized”.
I’m interested if this will happen, I’m wondering if this alleged surge of multiboxers is due to Longboi and when it’s “gone” if these threads will stop
Just to touch on this, my computer was $1200 in 2012, only thing I’ve changed is a RX580 I got last black friday for $150. So my computer is probably worth
It most certainly is already in the EULA about using software to automate any function of play.
bots; i.e. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that allows the automated control of a Game, or any other feature of the Platform, e.g. the automated control of a character in a Game;
It absolutely won’t. Multiboxing is very nearly the equivalent of printing gold, the only way that won’t be the case, is if Blizzard stops making hyperspawns that drop valuable resources. Interestingly enough, they’ve already nerfed several popular farm spots because of multiboxxers, so they clearly recognize that there is a problem.
They definitely know there is a problem, I even get in game mail telling me about reports I have made and that a player (they never name them of course) has been banned.
They just need dedicated GM’s that hover around and insta ban players without relying on player only reports being made.
