Let’s be fair, most dungeon, raid, and battleground content is a waste of development resources as well. Put it into more overworld content and developing cosmetic collections systems like housing.
Don’t forget more Battle pets in every update like monthly market place is.
Amen! I want those resources used to refresh some old zones!
I think you pretty much summarized it right there.
Garrisons at the time werent player housing. They were Tiller that progressed into…a system for progression for the expansion. Removing it certainly would have been problematic.
Clearly though it also reiterates that its doable in the game.
Im not familiar with Wildstar housing never played it but SWTOR player housing was a lot better than any experience I was expecting and it really reflects much more the expectations I had for what I thought Garrisons were going to be.
Stuff that shouldnt have been tied to Garrisons was…but it makes sense they were since it was a progression system, or sure appears to have been, and not truly intended as player housing.
I do the budget for Blizzard and I’ve decided it’s not a waste of resources.
Garrisons are like going to work everyday do your work sit down if you have to then leave to go to your real house away from work where you can watch cable tv till you go back to work the next day.
Right Garrisons are. The experience Garrisons provided was a factor in my taking a notable break from WoD.
What the player base advocating for player housing actually wants is much closer apparently to whatever Wildstar offered and what I would suggest from SWTOR.
In trying to learn more about Wildstars player housing via google its pretty clear WoW is about the only MMO quite possibly at this point that hasn’t embraced it.
The feature doesn’t need to be a clone…the other examples are just examples. Starting point or talking points imo.
What’s stopping them from using those resources to do that now? It ain’t player housing.
I’m glad it wasn’t me whom you thought was trolling.
Well they make a post about the toxicity of the forums and then make kind of a toxic thread themselves .
Both were made to illicit reactions from others and not actual debate
I stopped playing them because of mythic plus. I use them to level and that’s it. Mythic plus to me is the most toxic un fun part of the game.
Housing will be tricky to implement in WoW from a style perspective. In-game furniture and decorations are tied to very specific themes (e.g. Night Elf, Blood Elf, Human, etc.) so player choice on how to decorate their homes would be very limited without Blizzard needing to make the various doodads style-agnostic.
I want housing, but I also want the flexibility to mix and match furniture without them looking out of place.
Not a house
Amen bro not a house.
Thats like your opinion, man…
Because its in high demand among solo players who’d like it to be a thing. Who realize that they will never get the best gear by killing Kobolds out in the Azure span. No matter how many they kill, it won’t happen. So they need something to make it fun for them in the game.
Also, why should we, the customers be worrying about Wow’s resources… if its not a game that’s good enough, quit and play something else. The fact that players are worried about their resources is staggering, cute but still very ominous of an indication regarding how things are going in a downward trend.
Blizzard Introduced a brand new game mechanics “Housing and Taxation” into the game.
Just remove dungeons, raids, bg’s and everything in between for a few seasons and let everyone participate in player housing games! Trial of Player Housing. How about dah! Cosmetic housing, you can actually put a miniature feature of your house on your head and walk around showing it off. Very rad!
This is what they have been doing for several expansions now.
