Chances are, if they ever did anything like player houses, it would be designed like FF14 or close to how they do theirs and those who have played FF14 and experienced it can possibly relate to how frustrating getting one was and is still. Those who never played, let’s just say that it was and is tough to obtain one and you got those who buy them with all their gold and then sell them to flip the plot to sell for higher amounts.
The Garrison was great, it was just extremely limited in terms of customization.
People didn’t like the garrison because of how powerful the mission tables were, not because of the garrison itself. Also, many people still use their garrison, even if it provides no added customization or value to the game. I’m one of those people.
People aren’t hanging in main cities now, because there’s no reason to be there. But if they had player housing in Silvermoon, I bet you’d see a lot of people going to and from Silvermoon to visit houses.
If they ever consider doing player housing right, it should be available in different hubs (main cities, etc…), it should never have any tie to character power, and it should be updated with new content patches.
You know how many people would farm something for a different color chair? Too many people. Too many.
It’s easy, compelling content to make for a lot of people. It’s absolutely silly that they haven’t invested in it.
I know this will upset some, but imagine if they had housing and they threw that friggen centaur skin rug on the shop for like $5, they’d make so much money on a digital rug.
WoW is in great shape and doesn’t need a “Pokemon Battle Game.”
I would love to see how WoW would put “YOU NEED PLAYER HOUSE” into the plot. A dangerous demon comes by and the only hope to save the world is to put 3 chairs into your apartment!
If Blizzard rejuvenated out-in-the-world content, including using housing as a way to do that? They would have my friends and I resubbing and staying subscribed like it was tyhe days of Wrath.
“I’m not going to read it, and I know it’s wrong therein” Let’s reexamine this kind of discourse… You dont know that you’ve been rebutted before you even posted
WoW is in great shape and doesn’t need a “Barbie Dress Up Game”.
the beauty of it is that those who don’t want to do housing don’t have to do it!
This part right here is key. So many people who say no to housing are the same people who will say “Just don’t do content you don’t like.”
I think housing is a perfect net to catch people from casual to cutting edge.
Players asked for housing in the past, and got garrisons… so can we just not? Thanks.
No, we can. And that’s my point.
WoW is in great shape and doesn’t need a “Barbie Dress Up Game”.
WoW is in great shape and doesn’t need a “Call Of Duty lobby for instanced content!”
The issues with current WoW has nothing to do with housing.
The only benefit I can see out of housing is it would force Blizzard to recognize that not all rewards have to be character power/progression driven.
Players asked for housing in the past, and got garrisons
As I stated, claiming Garrison is player housing is like saying adding extra cheese to the outside of your Hot Pocket is gourmet dining. Yeah it’s edible, but adding the minute detail of customization doesn’t make any more special than it intended to be.
Did you read the piece? It’s about game design philosophy. it’s bigger than houses, partner.
This will not be one of those pro-housing posts
This was exactly a LONG pro-housing post.
I think player housing is stupid. I hated it in FF.
Personally, I’d rather see that resource create more dungeons instead of player housing.
. We all have opinions.
I’d be all for player housing. However, it not really something I want. Is it more for the RPing community?
You painfully and disingenuously took that quote out of context. Finish the sentence. And read the piece.
This was exactly a LONG pro-housing post.
You literally didn’t even finish the sentence you half-quoted lol
Its bigger than housing. Its about philosophy. Read the piece.
Your formatting is really difficult to sift through.
Personally, I’d rather see that resource create more dungeons instead of player housing.
You constantly get dungeons. You’re literally getting a huge dungeon next patch. They add a raid every patch, which is just a huge dungeon. They’re not stiffing you on dungeons.
Housing? It’s not World of Animal Crossing
