Player Housing Can Save World of Warcraft

They could make the ressources and gear BoA but it still force people to have that profession on a toon or even have an alt that’s leveled at all just to get gear. And they removed master loot. Ain’t no way they put all the gear in BoE form.

I agree profession needs help but gear is not the solution. If anything, SL legendary system was a really good step towards it. Just a shame they crapped the bed with it.

i cannot speak on SL leggo system tbh i haven’t scratched the damn surface with SL but yea the professions needed a major overhaul for a long time already. dont think that will happen though. seems like they in deep sh*&T rn with SL.

the corona didn’t help either i mean it affects all businesses even the one i work for

If it came with content updates like a new dungeon and raid every three to five months it could.

I didn’t read everyones responses, no, wanted to chime in on the OPs post. Saw the other dudes post which was basically what I was thinking.

I DO like your post though and I agree that we need player housing for the effect that it can produce. Professions being one idea, though, how these are implemented and what they do, matter greatly. I like my Gold, so not sure about the black hole wow token idea.

I think the Garrisons and Covenants are a big miss, in terms of how the game is designed. WQ and Dailies are horrendous activities that spit in the face of the potential that is Garrisons and Covenant Sanctums.

Covid does slow down 9.1 but it barely affected Shadowlands as it is right now.

If there was a world of Warcraft sims would you play it.

I would

Can’t tell if you like the player housing idea or just sims. Either way, please consider this post and thread is not suggesting sims.

I mean it sincerely
I legit love building houses

What I’m saying is what if there were a total simulation of building styles in the spirit of the wow franchise with the same characters

Housing alone wouldn’t save the game, but housing as a part of a recommitment to the WORLD content of the game would. And they would need to advertise it as a revamp and recommitment to being an MMORPG because so many players have left and lost faith in Blizzard that some kind of genuine outreach would be needed to bring them back.

None of this will happen with Ion at the helm. I’m not advocating to fire anyone, but surely his skills would be better suited to a different game.

i can’t say for certain. i think it has in some sense and yesterday i was watching the sloot interview surprised i watched the entire thing it’s like 1 hour long and he was talking about it affecting 9.1 but you know how those things go…

thats why i dont like watching interviews/ Q & A’s same ole same ole run around

That’s why I don’t argue housing alone will save the game. I say exactly that housing as a recommitment to the world as a shift in design philosophy is what will do it. So we agree. Perhaps you didn’t fully excavate the post

I’d really love them to tell us how COVID slows down their Game Development.

What exactly gets impacted from this.

I’d like to see the game direction head towards what made Warcraft special to begin with… the RTS game… WC3 was up to the Lich King, and after that, interest in the game declined.

What can we take from the RTS game?

A base - player housing can go there
Resource gathering - tradeskills can be linked to this in some way
Territorial conquest - Here is where they can link campaigns to instances, raids, dungeons, and persisting dynamic open world content, that continually changes. There could be visual indicators that the area/ territory is under another factions influence, by having the terrain change in appearance. These aren’t new ideas, and I think they have been lazy, no meaningful time spent on the game to improve it and be competitive with upcoming games.

Really I dont care about Player Housing as much and view what is connected to it as more valuable… I would prefer RTS campaign content in an MMO setting. Where you are constantly battling and trying to outsmart the computer, while accumulating artifacts of power to aid towards victory.

NPC armies, that I want our computer AI to control while I fight as my toon on the field, but have the option of doing so… this can be done in open world through special means and most definitely in an instanced campaign for solo content, group content or raid content… Player house, player base, Group house, group base, guild barracks, guild base…

This is one reason I find NPCs and their minimal abilities to be boring… the battle would be much better if they designed the way we fight to be more interactive, offensively and defensively.

doubtful COVID plays/played any part in slowing down of software development or design.

Because that is all we would get.

Based on what insider knowledge that you have?

Common sense based on past practise. You want to keep on dreaming go ahead though.

Blizzard is pretty lazy when it comes to this…

Would need a giant magic pocket room to display everything in 3D. Dont think they would want to dedicate the server space to that

Ion Hazzikostas has shared in a number of interviews that transitioning their entire team to 100% working from home significantly hindered production of Shadowlands

Ok, I’d just like to hear what it impacted, in terms of Shadowlands production. We couldn’t do this anymore, or we couldn’t do that… Other businesses have specified that their productivity is down because people have a hard time managing themselves at home.
