Player housing and garrisons

But this is blatantly false, as their records show more money does not mean a better product, they sold more copies of SL than any other prior expansion, yet this did not mean the product was good or that people liked it. Equally during DF and the tail end of SL they made record profits, yet the game has not really improved much.

As long as at least one person has enjoyed my content, I am so very happy because it means that I helped one person and helping one person is very good

Here’s another model of monetisation for the new blizzard player apartment system:

Choice of hardwood floors - hardwood floors have always been the premium option when it comes to apartment dwelling. For an extra fee, blizzard can put hardwood floors in the player’s apartment. If the player chooses to not pay that fee and keep the carpets, then the player will have to purchase a vacuum cleaner from the wowshop

We both know you don’t care about that, how long do you plan on holding this charade? How long before you crack as all trolls inevitably do? I’m curious to see now…

Also the more posts you give this thread, the long it stays bumped, so please do continue…

I do care about helping people. Helping people is one of the best things a person can do. It helps to make the world a better place, friend

While we’re here, I have a new idea for the monetisation of your player apartment idea:

Air conditioning: if a player chooses to rent an apartment in a very hot location such as the barrens or near the firelands raid in mount hyjal, they would be able to purchase an air conditioning unit from the wowshop to ensure that their character feels comfortable in their new home. Obviously, their electricity bills will increase because air conditioners use a lot of electricity.

Great, now maybe if this keeps up we can have someone from the community council see the OP and bring it up.

I certainly hope so! When the community council reads through this thread, they wil see all my wonderful ideas for the monetisation of player apartments and offer those ideas directly to blizzard!

Wow that would be so wonderful, I would be so happy

Here is a new monetisation model: blizzard could charge a higher rent for apartments that have a view of beautiful locations (perhaps overlooking storm wind harbour or near the coast in feralas)

It would have to be one helluva upgrade to get close to player housing.

It’s also stuck in lore time so it wouldn’t really work for anything.

I’d just put him on ignore. He’s only here to be annoying. He ran out of actual arguments before the thread was made. Lol

I think it would be pretty close actually.

The two concepts are very similar, my friend

They said it would take time but likely would have to skip 3-4 expacs to focus on it so a fairly large content drought while being built.

They said nothing of the sort.

Here is what Ion actually said:

I love when people hear them say this stuff and draw wild conclusions from it that make literally no sense and require stretching the actual words and their meanings heavily.

This was one of my favorite things about the Garrisons. Would dig it if they expanded this to include more music, too.

In fact, I wish they had a mini holiday based on music in WoW where they had a special concert made up of NPCs that played a venue in specific cities or locations - think ETCs but more bands in various genres. And part of this was a chance for your character to play a couple sets with others. Kind of like games at dark moon faire but you’d manipulate stuff to create music. And THEN have THAT music recorded as part of an expanded music library for Garrisons/Homes. ultra customization.

Technically you can pick which pets you want to wander your garrison. Any battle pets you have selected as Favotites will be the ones chosen to appear, as wanderers and as the static ones near the battle pit. My garrison has all the Winter Veil decorations up so I have all the holiday pets set as favorites to hang out and wander around.

As for housing, I’d love to see it done properly in WoW and have someplace I have more creative control over than the garrison, with architecture and furnishings more in line with my character. Pandaren stuff for my Pandas, Gnomish styles for my gnomes, etc. But that seems like a long way off atm and right now I get my housing fix from Grounded. Creative control, armor dummies, weapon racks, base raids, enemy replicas and trophies, and even a hot tub.

Houses and furniture layout like Star Wars Galaxies had, I still remember days and days working at that system.

There’s many ways to include housing in the game; I would not enjoy having a house that also doubled as a quest hub. No vendors, no quests, maybe not even the ability to see trade chat.

You should have extra storage for food items, and a way to display gray quality items you want to store, such as a bookshelf for all those Steamy Romance Novels, or a closet for specific clothing items. Eventually, some professions should be able to make decorations, but nothing too crazy.

This isn’t FF14. Housing doesn’t need to be the same as it.

As someone who is sick of the paradigm of current expansion content, I would love to see player housing.

Yes, while garrisons are customizable, they’re a very hollow shell to what actual player housing could be.

What I found interesting with the toys being used as items, are that some of the toys (Leather Love Seat comes to mind) can be manually placed, so the technology is already there.

Oh, and the previous expansion mission tables all being consolidated to one area? Good call!

Oh yeah that would actually be great, imo. The player apartment would really benefit from that I think.

Ah, see, I still think professions should be the main driving force behind housing.

If professions aren’t a main focus I think we’d end up with less than stellar results.

A lot of good evergreen content can be done by making sure that professions have a place throughout the player home concept.

I do love this idea though. Have the books interactable in the world so you can just read.

That would be delightful, I have a full bag in the bank of just random lootable books I’ve collected over the years.
