Player housing and garrisons

I think that old raids should drop customization theme scroll(s). That customization pertaining to the specific raid but either be in the form of architecture, décor, landscape or furniture.

I can just imagine it now. A Blackrock Mag’har Orc with a lava throne looted from killing Ragnaros in either Molten Core or Firelands. Would be freaking awesome.

Why can’t blizzard just put the lava throne furniture model on the wowshop so that they could earn more money from it?

I think the best option would be to put the decorations on the wowshop. Same as with all of the furniture.

The more money that blizzard earns from the player apartment system, the higher budget blizzard will have to further develop content like raids and mythic plus.

I think that is the best way forward, my friend

Think of the throne you could get from the Blackrock raid in Draenor. The Dark Iron Throne for your Dark Iron Dwarf in Blackrock Depths. Nefarian’s throne from the place we fight him.

Plenty of sources for throne type furniture through achievements and action.

Same as the other two suggestions, I believe this would be best if blizzard put these types of items in the wowshop

Or Garrosh’s throne from SoO. Thrones were just the first thing I thought of, but there’s lots of different types of trophies and decorations they could give us from raids and dungeons.

Stealing Rastakhan’s throne from the Dazar’alor raid would be pretty great

Do you really believe that random drops for furniture would be enjoyable for people?

I honestly believe that everyone would be much happier with the player apartment system if they could just customise their apartment to look exactly as they want it to look on the same day that they sign the lease and pay first month’s rent.

The only way that could happen would be if blizzard put the furniture on the wow shop and people purchased it there

I’m totally grabbing Onyxia’s skull…

But yeah, thrones, skulls, maybe some Blackrock Orc leaders metal hand.

Y’know. The important stuff.

Oh I’d need that for my troll toons so bad…

(Toss him on ignore too. Keeps the clutter down.)

(Remember when he tried to pretend he had a real “logical” reason to be against player housing and it just turned out that his fee fees were hurt?)

i absolutely love your suggestion, my new friend.

i think it is fantastic and very well-thought out.

if blizzard were to put onyxia’s skull on the wowshop as a decoration for player apartments, then it would certainly liven up the atmosphere within the player’s dwelling.

have a lovely day

my favorite part about posting on this thread is that should blizzard take a look here when deciding about adding player apartments to the game, blizzard will see all of my posts and take them into consideration.

i think blizzard would really appreciate the new monetization suggestions that i posted here, don’t you?

Well at first, I kindly explained that blizzard already added player housing into the game and it would just be a waste of blizzard’s development resources to add more player housing.

But then a very kind soul explained that player housing could be monetized and I completely changed my mind because player housing, if properly monetised, would give blizzard so much more resources they could use to further develop raiding and mythic plus.

Monetized player apartments are the new best thing to happen to wow!

There’s a lot of room for various raid trophies. Skulls from more animalistic ones, various trinkets from humanoids… it’d be awkward to have Illidan’s horns hanging on the wall if he ever pays a visit

“Look, it was a different time, okay? You got better.”

Great suggestions.

I’ll throw out some other ideas.

Some housing could be hotels/condos where you could toggle allow ‘guild name’ access Y/N; allow friends access Y/N; allow party members access Y/N; allow everyone access Y /N; or just type in all the names of players that you want to give access to, whether real ID or toon name.
Then perhaps assign rooms in hotel to various players. So basically, if you own a condo complex, these other players would have access to foyer and ammenity rooms, and unasigned condos, but not assigned condos, which would require the person with control over it to set it up. I think this set up would be more social than only having solo houses, which of course could also be available to own. These condos/houses should be finite per realm (connected realms). This way, you could get to know your neighbor, perhaps. Each house or condo should be namable.

If you approach a house and it is set to allow all players to have access, you cpuld just walk right in.

Oh wow. I never even thought of that.

Having a player hotel system would actually be so much fun. I really want to kindly thank you, my friend, for bringing up that suggestion. It’s actually so wonderful.

So say a player paid blizzard’s fee to rent an apartment in feralas, as an example. The rent lasts for the entire month and they would have to pay a lease break fee if they wanted to move before then.

The hotel system would be a way that would allow the player to go visit a new zone without having to pay the full leasing fee in addition to the rent.

The player, who has an apartment in feralas, could buy a hotel room in Shadowmoon Valley while they visit that lovely location. Obviously the hotel fee would be something put on the wow shop but it would be significantly less than the apartment rental fee on the wowshop.

This would allow players to visit new locales and decide if they would ever want to move there after their current lease has ended (you know, without having to buy a lease break on the wow shop).

Thank you so much, I am so glad you suggested that. I think it would be so much fun, Lousipher

The more I think about it, I am so excited for the player apartment and hotel system to be added to the game. With all of the new revenue from apartment purchases on the wow shop, blizzard will really be able to completely revamp the entire game and just spend so much money on development than they previously were able to.

Also, I bet Microsoft would be so happy to have all the extra income from their new purchase as well.

Everyone in this thread is actually just so wonderful. You all have such great ideas and really have worked hard to put them all together. So for that, I would like to say thank you

Edit: I noticed that Lousipher gave me a like on this post. That was so kind of you and I just wanted to take a second and say thank you for that

I love how predictable the responses to what you wrote were lol… but yes it was a stab by Blizzard at a play on player housing per se but they spent way too much time on it then. They left it behind because it was their expansion only thing , I think they said something regarding Garrisons a long time ago.

Oh yes, I agree 100% for sure.

Blizzard spent way too much time/money/resources on developing garrisons and they only received negative responses from it.

That’s why the new player apartment system with proper monetisation can help make a difference there.

If blizzard properly monetizes this new system by doing things such as:

If there was a solid system of monetisation for the new player apartment system, then blizzard would receive so much more revenue from it.

Get WoD stone and theres your housing

That’s a pretty neat idea really.

Maybe could use that on your own Alts too if player housing isn’t specifically account wide.

blizzard could easily just an add something to be purchased on the wow shop that would make it account wide for your alts, i would imagine.

hope you enjoy your day

A concept that isn’t player housing related but that I’d love to see come out at the same time is letting you set some alts as optional computer controlled assistance in dungeons.

Basically letting you run a dungeon solo but with a fairly “dumb” party.

Could see them limit this to old content only.

i could see them adding this feature. perhaps they put some sort of token in the wowshop and each token you have lets you bring an alt with you to a dungeon.

yeah, that sounds like a really nifty idea
