You misread what I said.
I meant all mounts, pets and companions that are native to the Shadowlands don’t canonically leave the Shadowlands.
All of them being used outside of the Shadowlands are for gameplay reasons and are not canon at all Imo.

Well then they can do the same for the 4 races… Thats also another flaw in this whole forbidden to leave the SL thing. But is there any other reason why these 4 races cannot leave the SL other than being told not to by their superiors for their duty? If not I don’t see why they can’t have the choice now while the barrier between the 2 worlds are still open. Perhaps they can choose now in the last patch to leave before the gateway is closed again.
The lore this expansion sucks, I see so many forum posts complaining about the bad storylines and bad lore, and having 4 amazing races added and more bad lore preventing them from being playable races just adds to the dissapointment of shadowlands as a whole.
I don’t quite understand how their duty somehow can only mean anima production. The covenants have soldiers and warriors etc so not every single member is dedicated to the production of anima, at least some are dedicated to the protection of the Shadowlands. Azeroth’s world soul being lost to any of the various realms is a universe ending event where that realm will then destroy all the others. It seems to me that it’s perfectly within their interests to seek to avoid the apocalypse and send some of their fighters to help.
Not entirely sure where you got the only anima production thing from, anima didn’t even cross my mind. I just said stay for their duty, that could mean anything. Now the Kyrian are allowed to retain their memories perhaps some may want to leave, look what happened when some found out their memories were taken away, they turned purple and rebelled. They can make choices now, let them choose to leave while the gateway of life and death is still open before it shuts.
Maybe they can leave in secret withotu their superiors knowing.
Sorry, I wasn’t suggesting you were saying that. That’s just generally the argument I see as to why they wouldn’t leave, because muh anime is the only thing they’re interested in.
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to say that their “duty” would include ensuring Azeroth doesn’t fall, leading to the end of the Shadowlands.
What I’m trying to say is that the Shadowlands as a whole and how it works is meant to be a secret to the regular mortal races in reality.
Imo it would cause a lot of confusion if the Shadowlands’ races just suddenly appeared in reality. Also chaos if everyone living on Azeroth knew how the Shadowlands worked and how to get there without a portal or rift if you know what I mean (dark stuff).
As for the races that reside in the Shadowlands (except the ones trusted with specific jobs). It’s not like that they CAN’T leave, it’s just that they SHOULDN’T leave to keep the balance for normal circumstances.
We might see the Shadowlands’ important characters again in reality at some point but it just depends on where the story leads after Shadowlands ends.
I like your health regeneration idea through a bite. I’ll add that to the OP.
kyrian playable Owl dudes. That would be the only thing worth it.
Here are a few more Venthyr concept artworks.
Really love this one. She’s beautiful. New pretty faces are always welcome!
Here is some more Kyrian & Forsworn concept art.
The golden freckles idea is really neat!
Allowing overpowered races to become playable is a bad idea, part of the reason why I didn’t favor Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves becoming playable because from a lorestandpoint it makes no sense. They are too powerful.
Hmm…
How so?
Some members of the Covenant Races are truly powerful but they seem more akin (excluding their leaders) to our own powerful individuals you find in our Factions.
Void Elves and LFD haven’t shown themselves to be immensely more powerful than other races that I can tell either.
I know right! That idea could span to other races and create some really cool customization options.
Yeah, I don’t know if I would consider them overpowered when we’re killing them for multiple quests. The leaders are overpowered, as all leaders are in wow, but I wouldn’t say the average person in any race is.
We on the other hand could definitely be argued as overpowered when considering everything we’ve done.
We should go back to simpler times with basic simple races instead of overpowered races. I mean, where art thou jinyu, ankoan, hozen, tuskar, those tauren looking things in northrend but they aren’t tauren but look like tauren, etc, you know like, “simpler” races
Can imagine starcursed stuff for Void Elves. Few have already suggested that.
I agree that concept could apply to many races and in many ways.
This.
To which I say; Why not both?
Absolutely. More the merrier.
