Playable Covenant Races

Sethrak are an integral part of the Alliance.

i would completely abandonee the horde for sethrak

I’d love for playable sethrak, just imagine a fully united Zandalar.

Found some neat fan made venthyr art. Really like these clothes concepts.

That actually looks really neat.

Some more Sylvar fan art.

I really hope these become playable

I’d probably make one of those real quick…

Especially if they had druid as an option.

I know right! It’s like my dream combo. Druid is my favorite class, and having a woodsy mythical creature as the character completes that fantasy for me. Night elves are close, but for me these Sylvar fauns take that vibe to the next level.

It’d be super cool if they had the last patch reshape death or something and allow the covenant races to come back through to azeroth. All their models seem to be pretty close to working for players, and their racials could just be the covenant abilities (fleshcraft, summon steward, etc).

Would love to play a kyrian paladin/ shaman with vesper totems/ or demonhunter with a kyrian class skin (turning fel into Kyrian anima magics).

You’re exactly right with the racials. I’ll add that to the OP.

I’d have to have one. Like… I have a druid of every race that can be… and most of them are at least into SLs at this point. lol

To date I’ve seen no evidence that they’re currently barred beyond… they just don’t go. (That and it costs a lot of Anima to pass over.)

I’m going to start designing my own concepts for these. I enjoy sharing other artists work, and will continue to do so, but I also want to post some ideas that are mulling around in my head. I don’t currently have a drawing tablet, so old-fashion paper and pencil will have to do until I purchase one.

Do you happen to know what program others have used in the past for creating new hairstyles on current in-game models? I recall seeing something, but I didn’t write it down as I should have.

Would be fun if these races came with class skins idea.

Changing magics they use to whatever covenant you are would be a nice option. Since they are dead souls it would be cool if they played any class.

Stuff like night fae warlocks could summon beasts of nature, boggarts, and the trickster imps instead of demons for example.

Blizz mentioned after shadowlands we wouldaybe take sometging from shadowlands to be more permenant. I was hoping the covenant abilities would turn into a talent row.

It would be nice if there racials empowered this talent row slightly.

No.
As much as I wouldn’t mind playing a Venthyr and how they’d be the only other race than pandaren I’d play…
No.

Like others have stated, shadowlands story is so bad that it’s better to just forget it exists and any references to it gone in later expansions. I say this as someone who generally likes SL from a gameplay point.

I’m still of the mindset that the best way to “fix” shadowlands….is to use the “it was just a dream/nightmare” excuse that everyone hates in storytelling, but everyone knows is the easiest way to retcon events. Something something your character got put in a magical/cursed coma after the events of bfa, and everything they experienced in SL, was just a dream/nightmare.

For sure! Class skins would be amazing for the game. A lot of our current playable races would benefit from those.

Ya loved the way some people thought of changing magic types for paladins for example into more shamanistic fire/water paladins. And I personally would love an Akunda based lightning magic paladin!

I think that the shadowlands races are a nice starting point for class skins if they were introduced with the race. And other races having options to use those spell animations. Also choosing which types of magic you would like to use sounds cool from a personal rp choice. Like a kyrian paladin choosing to use anima based magics or stick with the holy magics like the Val’kyr seem to use holy and shadow - a sort of twilight magic. Where as kyrian magic seems more arcane and shadow based.

I don’t work in that regard myself much, only dabbled since my classes required it.

I’ll ask some friends I know do mockups and see what programs they recommend.

Edit:
All right, the very nice amazing wonderful folk I usually ask to make mock ups for me, Lancelot and Somand, use Gimp mostly.

They recommend using multiple layers, that way if you don’t like something or need to change something it’s easier to do without starting over.

Another friend mentioned paint.net.

Thank you so much Fenelon!

The whole layer thing sounds similar to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, so I get what they mean there. I will check out both programs and see what I can do with them.
Thanks again!
