Playable Covenant Races

Oh I see what you mean. I understand.

From what I’ve found, I believe the Sylvar are the ones who are able to wear pretty much any gear. I’ve actually posted pictures in chat, that were originally posted by wowhead, showing them wearing Shadowlands sets.
Have you seen elsewhere the Kyrian and Venthyr wearing player armor? I recall seeing some posts showing the Venthyr having a bit of an issue with a couple things, but I haven’t seen anything showing Kyrian wearing player gear. Perhaps some recent things have came out? I would definitely like to see them if you could direct me.

I would personally love to play Dryads and Keepers of the Grove.

What gets me is the San’layn could literally be added as customizations to Blood Elves, just as Blizz has done with other races; that way they’re still playable even if they aren’t given their own race slot. Of course a redo to the race selection system with the inclusion of sub-races would be the best solution for everyone.

I agree those would be cool. I don’t think we will ever be rid of clipping issues.

And yet that’s what the devs tell us are the biggest reason why different races haven’t been made playable yet

I just take the clipping with a grain of salt and that it’s canon at this point. I just take it that different races need to edit gear to fit them, being cutting slits for ears and tusks (and eyebrows, ganna look fancy, lol).

Yeah, I think that’s just a line we were fed.

Here are some more male Sylvar customizations. The first row are the in-game defaults: below those are some I’ve created along with some color options.

Thoughts? ^^^

Well, they DID respond to a comment asking about Ven’thyr as a possible playable race on Twitter and the answer was a: “Maybe, we look forward to the possibility.”.

Once again amazing options!

I really like the middle one third row from the top.

Yes for sylvar cause they have hooves the rest nah

I can only hope! Would love to see them playable. The last post you linked does make some good points about updating the model.

Thank you!

I’ve been debating about coming up with some facial hair options for them.

Sylvar are modeled much like the Draenei so that doesn’t really surprise me. I’d just think the Venthyr would be easy to outfit because they don’t have wings, horns, digi legs, and bones poking out of them.

In general I think the San’layn should be a customization for both Velves & Blood Elves. OR heck even a DK customization. It’s disappointing to say the least that they have not been added – yet being begged for since WOTLK.

Dryads and Keepers would be so lovely to add – but probably one of the hardest one’s to add because of them being centaur-like in shape.

That would be wonderful!

I can understand some of your thinking, but if it is something a base or current allied race has, the argument against such falls flat. The only thing you list that none of the current races has is wings, and when it comes to the stoneborne, it would not be that hard for the men to have their wings serve as their cloak. the females are a little harder as their wings are also their arms and hands.

Oh no. I’m not excusing it as that being the reason why. I’m just referring to as probably why it hasn’t been implemented yet.

Here’s the first hairstyle I’ve created for the male Sylvar. It’s similar to the long default hairstyle in game, but this one is longer and doesn’t cover the shoulders.

If any cov races become playable it should be the stewards and servants.

I like it. Probably less clipping with it off the shoulders too.
