Phil Spencer Wants Gamers To Treat Developers With More Dignity and Respect

I think youre confusing “respect” with “admire”

You can respect a persons right to fairness, decent manners etc without admiring them.

you do what you think is right friendo, its your life

i saw it literally all the time in wrath. GC turned down blizz having people watching him all the time because he felt protected because he was in his words “a straight white guy” he talks about it on his blog. you can google it still i think. haven’t posted the link in a few months.

This is off topic, but why does every argument in the western world devolve into whipping out hitler? I am so tired of hearing about hitler. Now there is a name I wish would fade from memory like a blue fart.

I could bring up Putin but I’m just using a bad person as an example. You don’t respect this individual. So this notion everyone deserves respect is false

Then perhaps the devs need to treat the players with a little more respect as well? I am always polite (or try to be) but sometimes it’s difficult when they appear to be rather condescending. Most people don’t like that.

Everyone deserves respect until they lose it.

If there’s an elderly lady blocking an aisle in a grocery store, do you just decide “NOPE I DONT RESPECT YOU” and ram your cart through her?

No.

“Respect must be earned” is not something I agree with. Admiration must be earned. Trust must be earned.

Respect is a basic human instinct, and unless they do something to lose it, they should have it.

Do you respect dictators then simple question. Here maizou you seem to forgot the definition of respect a quick google search will give it to you.

Read the second part of my first sentence.

Conditioned response.

Its like commie. It just comes out as a conditioned response.

“YOu are a commie/communist”…I have gotten that before.

Nope I go , I have tendencies that lay in the realm of philosophical anarchy
(to not be confused with punk rock lyrics anarchy lol) mixed with a dash of nihilism.

Constructive criticism often gets lost in the avalanche of “_________ sux! Fix it or I unsub!”, insults, and mindless edgelord cynicism. I think the Community Council is an attempt to weed that out, but we’ll see over time if that’s actually what emerges, or if it turns into an echo chamber. Whenever you elevate people into a special group you always run the risk of them consciously or unconsciously trying to please those who put them there.

Answer the question do you respect dictators. Edit: until you respond I’m not going bother I stand by the statement not everyone deserves respect. And I been proven correct in my eyes at least considering they been avoiding the question. So yes not everyone deserves respect until they earn it

Just a fancy way of saying we can post in a special forum (that everyone can see) to give feedback relating to how we personally play the game. The goal is to get a wide variety of perspectives.

If you think “Until they lose it” doesn’t answer the question, that’s worrisome.

In what reality would a dictator not have lost my respect?

I love the yellowish text but wish they could tone it down just a tad. It’s too… eye burny… or whatever. It kind of stings my eyes a bit.

it makes me want to loot them tbh.

Oh, it was worse for like 3 hours when they first added it, the first day I joined the council.

They were quick to fix it though.
