Phil Spencer Wants Gamers To Treat Developers With More Dignity and Respect

It’s worrisome you respect dictators to begin with. and what’s this they needed to earn your respect in order to have lost it shocker indeed.

Has anyone else mentioned it still being a little burny? What is the actual term for it when it’s like that, I have no idea… it’s just eye burny. Maybe it’s just me. It’s not tortuous or anything. I can endure it. I would like if it were slightly more mellow though. The green mvp text isn’t burny to me like the yellow.

Shockingly, before they became dictators, they were just people.

By that logic, I shouldn’t respect you just because you MIGHT ONE DAY become a dictator.

No. You don’t give respect based on what they might do in the future.

Unless someone does something to lose your respect, you should always give someone basic human decency.

It made more sense when it was a protest against MVPs like Metrohaha who were just awful to people in green text, but I don’t even know what it’s about these days. Some kind of weird belief that he could actually get on the community council if he pretends to be a shill hard enough? Protesting against the community council by pretending to be a hardcore shill?

I don’t know, those are just my guesses. For all I know it’s low blood sugar.

I’m leaning harder into the “low blood sugar” theory.

I find it tiresome, personally.

Learning to deal with criticism and learning to tell the difference between valid criticism and gratuitous or personal criticism are import life skills.

Insulating your self from it or turning every form of criticism into a micro aggression builds a world with no bad ideas. Unfortunately in the real world there are lots of bad ideas.

Right you are cookiebro, respect is not a one-way street.

Yes, exactly you shouldn’t respect someone you don’t know you should treat them with basic manners but not hold admiration despite differences. Search up the definition of respect please. Then talk to me. See maizou i don’t respect you because you expect me too you have to earn that just as you earned your place on the CC but it seems you forgot that. And for a lot of players the game development team has not earned the respect they want we treat them with basic manners but by no means do we respect them.

I don’t actually know lol. Personally I’m not entirely sure why we need a unique text color, but shrug.

true. even in game systems support this basic fundamental concept. its called reputation. its why we have to farm it out. we are the MAW walker. you would think they would give us exalted rep the moment they realize who / what we are.

Exactly perfect example people need to reread their definition you don’t waltz in and give a stranger respect they have to earn that.

Here is the first definition that pops up enjoy.
“a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.”

Phil Spencer would be correct. Developers do deserve respect, as do all people.

Disagreement is good if done politely.

It is what it is.
You have SOME devs blocking people for giving rational criticism.
And then the odd lot.

Overall there needs to be a line drawn of the extremes but it seems devs in WoW at least from my experience are pretty hard headed.

Heck I remember in Diablo the d3 devs bad mouthed the original diablo dev for his criticisms lol

No… people actually make the threat clear.

The internet is filled with all kinds including emotionally stunted psychos

Yes and those psychos deserve to be called out. In fact making death threats should be illegal.

It is… but hard/costly to enforce (unless youre a politician)

goes both ways tbh
