My search powers are kinda meh, but I’m not seeing that this has been shared here yet so taking a chance and tossing it out here.
It’s a gamespot article from earlier today. Phil Spencer wants gamers to treat developers with more dignity and respect.

Hello, thanks for sharing this article pertaining to gamers and the way they treat developers. Note that Ion and the devs work tirelessly to provide us a world-class gaming experience with World of Warcraft, and I agree with Phil Spencer’s view! We should all strive to treat Ion and the devs with the utmost respect that entirely reflects the amazing content they provide us.

Phil has done good with game pass and I think Microsoft can change wow for the better. I think he’s referring to how 343 was treated by halo fans

there’s a lot of people that will respond to this thread that should unsub and go through their steam backlog for a month or two, instead. burnout is real my dudes. and it isn’t actually that ion is legitimately satan.

Ion isn’t satan those weirdos should unsub but he’s not fit for being game lead he’s stubborn and isn’t improving or changing wow for the better

I think personally attacking anybody brave enough to put a creative endeavour out to others is cowardly and unnecessary. That said, I feel my ongoing monthly investment in this particular endeavour affords me the freedom to respond critically when it doesn’t live up to my expectations.
Like art has its critics, and those who don’t ‘get’ it, so too it is with games.

Oh geez.
I get the meaning behind it, but let’s put it this way…
If said Dev does something in a game and gets ripped apart for it… sure that’s not acceptable. But if the same devs are blocking people providing normal feed back [criticism also].
Phil comes off kinda ‘‘let’s celebrate everybody etc and no hate pls, k thnx’’
But while I agree the outright hate is unacceptable… some form of opinion should be. Otherwise get outta the field you work in lol

Personally, I think that everyone should be treated with at least a modicum of respect.
Until they prove they don’t deserve it.

But, I mean, like, how can you be completely sure…?
Have you ever seen Ion and Satan in a room together at the same time?

I would like devs to treat their customers with more respect by making a good product.
I bought the expansion and pay monthly to play a game, I did my part.
Their turn.
I’m not family or even friends with the Devs. I am a customer and I will comment on the product I paid for.

Yeah players really could improve on that. WoW’s a good example. It’s one thing to criticize the game, but the forums frequently get feedback of the devs trying to spite players and plot evil plans for those MAUs. And to fire Ion, Danuser, and all these other devs from their jobs. That’s where it’s just players being toxic and ruthless.
Then people wonder why devs and CMs don’t want to talk to us here anymore like they used to.
THIS crowd?
They’ve vilified every lead game designer so far. There isn’t much hope from this crowd.

Oh god I feel like this train ain’t getting better under Phil if this is how he is gonna go and not hold devs accountable for the quality of work and hold himself accountable lol
