Phased in stormwind, can't complete quests

A few days ago, I made a druid on alliance, first character on alliance side (Youareataco on gul’dan).

I wanted to try exile’s reach, so I started it there, and completed the content, up until it brought me to stormwind. I had to log off part way through the intro to stormwind stuff, so I found the inn and logged out.

Later, I decided to use my level 48 character boost on said druid. I logged in, did the “here’s how you play a balance druid” thing, and started playing. After some headaches figuring out how to even get into BFA content to finish 48-50, I eventually was able to find an npc to do so.

However, now I’m stuck on “Return of the Warrior King”. The Fearbreaker mace is not on the wall. Wowhead comments on that quest indicate I might have an issue with the “On Whispering Winds” questline - I either have to abandon it, or finish that quest line completely. However, I can’t complete that quest either, as the Maiev NPC is not present in stormwind keep either.

Seems like my stormwind / stormwind keep is phased to something other than what either of those quests require for completion, and so I cannot progress in either, which is basically blocking me from doing anything useful on this character.

Please help.

Things I’ve tried:

  • restart game w/ all addons disabled
  • abandon / restart quest (both of them, in varying orders)
  • abandon every quest in my log
  • party sync with a lower level character to try to force phasing - this made Fearbreaker show up on the wall, but it’s still not clickable and magni disappears. The maiev NPC didn’t show up at all. Minimap still shows quest turn-in available in that room though.
  • advance through the “War Campaign” quests (done with 13/25 chapters… which is further than my 6 or so level 50 horde characters who have fully completed their cloak questlines)
  • opened a ticket, got a copy/paste response. reopened the ticket with more details, no response.

Nothing works.

I would keep that ticket open, and wait on the response.

It looks like our Support staff was able to get to your ticket, Dadtough. From what I can see you were in a strange state. The “Return of the Warior King” quest was phasing out the area to prevent Maiev from being in the map room for the “On Whispered Winds” quest.

Why Fearbreaker was not visible was odd, so they ended up completing that quest in order to move you passed it. You should be able to go to the Heart Chamber for the questline and picking up “On Whispered Winds” should allow you to speak with Maiev in the map room now.

I currently have the same issue, no Fearbreaker for me to click to complete the quest :frowning:

Having same issues

Same issues. Opened a ticket yesterday.

Hey all, looks like this issue is in for investigation. While I do not have an ETA on when the issue may be resolved, our staff maybe able to help move you through the quest if not completing this quest is blocking your continued progress.

Please submit a ticket under “Stuck on Quest”, in the description let them know that Fearbreaker does not appear on the wall during Return of the Warrior King.

Just want you to know I think it is funny when a GM posts a comment like this. I submitted a ticket for this issue and you want to know what I got in return?
A message back from Blizzard that said, and i quote.
“We are unable to assist you with your request at time due to the volume of requests currently. Please try the automated features below.”

I came back to play this game after 8 years and the first two quests I try to complete do not even work.
Absolutely terrible customer service. Your company does not even allow a contact number for someone to call. You cannot charge a service then just refuse to help people that are trying to play your game. What a joke.

Reopen your ticket if vrak says they will fix it then they will fix it vrak wouldnt lie and even link the thread and the blue post at the bottom.
As for the phone # they removed it because it wasnt for issues liek this people abused it so players that had there account hacked couldnt get thru i know i had a hell of a time getting thru because the # was always busy.

yea major issues with this pre patch. It was defintly not thought out very well with alot of bugs. Very rushed instead of quality plus lack of communication about fix’s which should have never needed fixed

A lot of the bugs that are happened did not exist in the testing environment. There is a difference between the testing environment and the live servers. It is not the first time, and won’t be the last, that a bug appears in live that never existed in testing. It happens to other software as well, not just WoW.

There has been communication. Maybe not as much as some players would like, but there has been communication. The Devs are working from home. It can limit their communication with each other. That can slow down the passing of information to players.

As for the rest of your statement, are you personally that familiar with WoW source code? Your statement is rather arrogant for someone who doesn’t have any real knowledge of the subject.

Just for a bit of an update.

It looks like they figured out that “On Whispered Winds” up through “Shores of Fate” should resolve this issue, which is part of the normal phasing that can happen when you have multiple quests that intersect in the Keep. Doing that should have resolved Yeahiheal’s situation. At least it looks like “Shores of Fate” was completed and then “Return of the Warrior King”.

So in this situation a Game Master wouldn’t need to take additional steps.

Not really. Not anymore than other large patches and significantly less than others.

It wasn’t and we provide a good deal of communication on fixes.

We have a blog on our Support site that is updated with some of the more major issues that folks are experiencing. We also have a list of hotfixes.

Hello,

Having the same problem on my toon, Edwinhuntard on Nazgrel. I also received the “too many tickets at this time”, can you please help me? Thanks Edwin

It looks like you are part way through the “On Whispered Winds” questline and currently have “Shores of Fate” in your log. You’ll want to complete at least that quest in order to return Stormwind Keep to the appropriate phase to complete “Return of the Warrior King”.

I am unable to even start “On Whispered Winds” after boosting my druid. I am also on “Tides of War” and the War Council is not present.

Am having a similar issue now, catch is I haven’t started ANY quests and am having phasing issues in Stormwind Keep on fresh characters, I just want to hand in quests and lock my XP. Don’t understand why it’s so complicated.

you don’t need to have started any quests.
the phasing is there in order for you to do the quests.

when you open your adventure guide, is there a quest to go to Boralus?

Should probably start a new thread though. This one is 4yrs old and didn’t need to be revived.

Nope, there isn’t but I DID try to go there and do it. (And did it) since other people said that worked for them - no luck.

Problem is alot has changed between 4yrs ago and now what worked then mite not work now which is why its better to start a new topic then necroing a 4yr old thread.
