Phase 2 is way too early

If it is being released earlier than it was in vanilla, then yes it’s too early.

No it isn’t

I played long enough for the hype. I cleared rag by week 3 with a guild I started from scratch but I can’t really put the time into this busted game and the really arbitrary 6 phase plan and arbitrary release schedule we get 2 weeks notice on. It’s a shame cause really all you had to do is relaunch a private server model but you have too much pride for that. You would have had progressive itemization, harder instances, a 2 year dated plan, BG’s at launch, and what a great product it would have been.

been leveling with a friend. Trying to stay at pace with him so we can enjoy leveling together. Both young professionals that travel for work and more.

We have been efficient and should hit 60 w/ barely 6 days /played (rested XP is a huge accelerator).

don’t foresee phase 2 feeling much different. the people leveling are typically more interested in actually leveling. Obviously - we’re gonna have a few more GY walks than currently after it does release. But we should also get a bit more pvp at our own level too - which is fun and livens up the leveling process.

We simply don’t have time to play more than 12 hours a week and we’ve missed entire weeks due to work conflict.

You only play one video game and never skip a day?..

The retail WoW devs are trying to kill Classic cause they are pissed how it has been doing better. They want the hype gone and seem to be double pissed that people are not going over to BFA. This super rush which has even effected guild members to feel they need to rush ruined the community world building or at least hurt it a lot.

what?

none of my alts , or my main, had over 6 day played when dinging 60.

I agree P2 is too early. And this comes from an avid PvPer who has half MC gear and enjoys wPvP.

I’ve got a spouse, I work 9-5, and I took a vacation for 3 weeks to China in September (zero WoW time for those 3 weeks) and I’m 60. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Granted I haven’t been 60 long, and I have a lot of gear to grind out of dungeons still. Could use some more time, but whatever. Looking forward to ranking soon.

You don’t have to apologize. I’m just pointing out that the PVP experience won’t be stellar for the extremely casual players who aren’t decked out in MC gear already. You will basically just be food for the people who have more time to play, and therefore this entire thread is a bit irrelevant. No matter when p2 comes out, there will be extremely casual players who are woefully underprepared for the game rolling over your.

Pretty sure this was when there were only four phases planned not six.

Looking at the actual rollout of content from Vanilla, it looks like we’re only getting the honor system a month early. I don’t think one month is “way too early” range of concern. It would seem they are just increasing the tempo to appease the speed of content consumption and keep the tempo of engagement in the game.

I just wish I had played from release of classic- I came back the beginning of October and so my time playing phase 1 is shorter than most. I was actually extremely against playing again but it wasn’t hard for my friends to convince me once I started watching videos and such of it again.

I started this character on October 14th and at this time I just hit level 45 last night. I think it’s been a strong push and I do maintain a social life outside of playing this.

I don’t know if I have it in me to make it to 60 before November 12th though. A month to get to 60 is asking a lot though and that’s basically what I’d be doing. I was really hoping it was going to be dropped around Thanksgiving - not quite this early.

We’ll see though. I’m going to make a push for it and we’ll see what happens. If I can dungeon grind my way there through ZF, Mara, ST and BRD + more higher up it should be ez-peasy.

I’m not doing, nor care for, the AoE grind thing (pvp frost spec is my choice). Questing is fast though.

Phase 3 will most likely be April 2020

whay do you think that? why would phase 1 be 3 months and phase 2 be 6 months?

Blizzard stated they were going to stagger content between live and classic patches. April 2020 parallels the gap between Nov launch > July BWL launch and Classic Aug launch > April.

Keeping in mind they want to stagger that live content with classic, it’s fair to assume the new 8.3 raid will come out probably around Dec/Jan. Give that content about three months to be completed and that’ll put you right around April, where Phase 3 in classic should launch.

They might launch BG’s a little earlier than BWL, It came out a month before the raid in Vanilla. Seeing that Dire Maul was about a month before the honor system, it’s not really far off of what we just experience in Classic. Getting DM a few weeks before the honor system. People are complaining, but if you compare the timelines from Vanilla and Classic, they are lining up pretty well so far.

you have WAY over thought this.

Replace playing WoW for 2-4 hours a day with playing basketball for 2-4 hours a day and see if you still feel you would be considered casual.

I’m not against the timeline, but the reality is classic wasnt made for the casual player.

It was made for those who love classic.

To be hornets, I started late in October, and I only played on the weekend for limited amount of time. Also, I am not only focus on the leveling, I maxed out my fishing and cooking. And I am getting there. There is way to level up even if there is PVP around.

guess that means you’re above average, congrats!

We’re not 5 months out from BWL, there’s absolutely no way. I expect BWL to release in February at the latest.

If they’re doing as Ion said they would, and watching how the playerbase is progressing; then there’s absolutely no way BWL is going to land in April.

https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/1000#metric=progress&boss=-1

There’s 3000 guilds on Warcraftlogs that have killed Ragnaros. Almost every guild that sets foot in MC clears to Ragnaros.

This number is going to be a lot smaller than the actual number of guilds that have cleared MC because not everyone uses logs and China appears to barely use it at all. How many guilds do you think killed Ragnaros by the time BWL released 2.5 months after the world first in Vanilla?

100?
