not the correct question. it’s “how many petri flasks were used on every naxx boss up to and including KT?”
Completing ERA raids even Naxx aren’t that big of a deal, and many off us did them in classic during progression. For those of us who want HC content, dumbing down the raids so that anyone can participate and where you can avoid wipes by hitting the “safe me” button, kills the concept of them being HC, and makes them little different then ERA raids. People often complain that content isn’t hard enough, well here was the chance to make raids truly challenging, instead we got petri flasks, and KT died within a couple of months.
As for the number of petri flasks used to get to the world first KT, if you count all of them that they used to reach KT which you should, it would be in the thousands because they never would have reached KT without abusing petri flasks.
Anyway, WoW HC rocks, see you guys online!
Or not.
More than likely not.
Thankfully.
Holy lol that’s soy. I’m done with this game mode once I hit 60, if I die before 60 good riddance.
Blizzard the number one soy company in gaming. Always has been too.
So brutally unforgiving!!
It probably didn’t help that I also renamed myself to something along the lines of “Buff Screwer” on Details for the rest of the night.
that’s the real issue. they’re just not that different from era raids now. that’s why they were beaten so quickly. it’s just the same as era raiding, except sometimes a tank will die or some dumb dps will pull aggro and die. wow. so exciting. yawn
Nice story, tell it to reader’s digest!
But seriously, I don’t think you realize how bad of an example that was for how this game is “brutally unforgiving”. Maybe you had too many addons on and lost track of the one important addon: threat meters?
BLIZZARD needs to remove the petri.
Actually I do realize how good of an example it is. I’m not raiding in WoW anymore in any capacity, but I’ve been around the block since vanilla through early Shadowlands and then back around again through Classic Ulduar. I’m incredibly seasoned in this regard including being in top server guilds for a few expansions and generally clearing lots of mythic raid content across the board.
I’m not the greatest player to ever exist, but I am confident in my ability to discuss and debate good raid design as I have seen my fair share of it over the years and with Classic being a thing now been able to better compare how raiding in that environment feels compared to modern day raiding.
You, on the other hand, have now admitted you haven’t even dinged 60 yet, but are QQing about how this triviliazes raiding, nor do I have any idea how extensive your raid history is so I’m not taking your opinion on the matter even remotely seriously at this point.
So get mad at my reader’s digest worthy story if you want, but the reason I’m babbling with you on dumb stories is because I am increasingly not taking you seriously in this matter. It’s fine to have an opinion on petri and think it’s cheesy/questionable gameplay and that Blizzard should have done it differently, but you’re on a whole other level by arguing it’s an exploit and trivialize raid content to being pointless and telling people they aren’t truly hardcore because of it all while not even touching that content yet.
Nobody is mad about it, it’s just a dumb example. You ignored threat meters like a buffoon and killed 17 players.
I’ll take your opinion seriously when you hit 60 and start raiding, or at the very least can discuss raiding in a way that makes me think you have any real experience or history in the raid scene to discuss it. Until then you’re just an armchair analyst.
I’ll take your opinion seriously when you can avoid killing half your raid group because you ignore threat meters like a bot.
If you are going to make statements like these better to post from your Hardcore 60 character otherwise there is no proof that you aren’t guilty of the same thing you are accusing.
Yeah I’m not too worried about their positions in the game mode.
I think that’s Blizzard’s take on your thread
I’ve broken down my raiding experience and it doesn’t include HC, nor did I make that the gold standard. If they don’t have HC experience that’s fine, but they are coming across as lacking experience in any capacity.
I did go through the Classic raid scene when it first launched and ultimately have little respect for how mechanics operated. I didn’t really start enjoying raid boss design until KT/Vashj and then Sunwell; KJ was chef’s kiss.
At the end of the day I have my opinions about petri, but I don’t think there’s any right or wrong answer and I am not here to tell people they are playing softcore if they use petri or are exploiting or aren’t HC if they use it; that’s the OP’s shtick.
I like how we went from 15 to 17 to half; at this rate I’ll have killed my entire raid by tonight.
Source? They said right in the linked video that petri is something they will be closely monitoring and keeping in mind for adjustments. They already understand it is a contentious issue with the game mode and something that could easily be problematic.
It’s cool at least because it enables griefing if you’re a tank. Maybe I’ll roll a warrior and destroy a bunch of poor players by overpulling, leaving group, and using petri.
oh man that walkback is incredible, hooooo man
Good to know that it was never about the experience and really just babyrage all along.
Please grow and change as a person.
Please stop defending a mechanic that ruins the hardcore mode, or at least stop acting like your position is objectively true. If anyone is objectively correct here it is the people who are against petri.
Please keep posting, my day can only go up from here
