AC’s are much more responsive in the prepatch, that’s for sure. They spawn nearly instantly when you dismount from a flying mount (used to take 3-5 seconds), and they also de-spawn nearly instantly when they should as well.
Reminder that this still needs to be fixed, otherwise PvP will be doa for hunters.

The gcd is not the problem with revive pet. Sitting through an eel pull in 28 sots reviving my pet every 4 seconds for 4 seconds cause of the revive pet cast isn’t fun. Or watching my pet flop to a dot in 27 tos because I didn’t react within a second of the magic dot going on it and having to resummon it, only for it to almost immediately die to another dot on it once I finally get it back up after avoiding volcanics that caused me to have to reposition twice during the cast time cause it’s so long.
Or in pvp when my pet dies and I’m locked out of doing anything but revive because I’m getting chain locked out on my revive pet cast.
The gcd is not the issue, that isn’t a hard conclusion to get to either. I don’t know how of all things that you came up with it was the GCD causing the problem.
Why are you all still trying to convince someone that isn’t even trying to talk with any of you regardless of what you might say and just wants to say they’re right and you’re wrong over and over again.
Factually all of those statements are still relevant to this post in the first place, since there was a lot of discussion here that people think it’s not as relevant in pve. And I get to kick the beehive, which is fun when I’m bored and I know I’m right.
Actually this 4 secs revive pet is really a big issue pve and pvp wise.
As pve i have done few M+ but In several situations I had to revive pet several times and I lost most of my dmg.
During world quest happened that i played with a cunning beast while queing for epic Bg and I got killed a couple of time cause I pulled a pack of mobs (not even too big) and cause the pet won’t be able to keep aggro and cause it went down almost instantly and took me 4 secs to revive it. Problem is that u can revive the first time using turtle shield but then if it dies again you are in trouble. Now I know that cunning pet is not the way to go to quest but what the hell.
Ferocity pet could resist a bit more pve wise but there is an issue about our pet.
About pvp I am not doing arena but even in random Bgs the pet is really squishy. And you could be silent, knocked, cc in a lot of ways that will prevent you to 4 secs ress your main damage source…result…you are dead. This is random Bgs i could only imagine how hard could be BM hunter life in some serious arena contest.
Generally I use spirit beast for M+, world quest (sometimes I use corehound), and world PvP (for pvp I am trying raptors right now but I miss the little heal, the little more HP and the dmg reduction 3 min cd spell of spirit beast).
So as we have done for hunter mark we need to spam blizzard to force them to change our pet situation.

I think its the best thing since sliced bread. Maybe they’ll break every class to improve them.
Never understood why I couldn’t call my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th pets if the one I had out died. You’d think that that would be the whole purpose of having a 5 pet stable. One dies, second one takes its place.
It would solve a whole lot of problems.
In a few month they will revert this changes,and called it a QoL changes,typical blizzard,who in the blue hell think 4 sec casting to revive a dead pet is ok?be its in pve or pvp,4sec is damn long casting time,nowdays there is so many idiot working in blizzard…
I ran a Horrific Vision earlier today and probably had the worst time trying to get through Lost Areas since before I had a maxed out cloak.
I usually have Hati (Tenacity) out until the end when I want Primal Rage for Thrall/Alleria, but that was a huge mistake this time around - dog died 4 times to trash. Just melted. Those bugs in the Rexxar area clapped him so hard after I rezzed him the first time that I barely got a second Kill Command off. And then as I’m rezzing, I’m sitting there praying that Haunting Shadows doesn’t spawn under me because that is ALSO 4 seconds. As it already happened twice mid-fight.
I’m holding out so much hope that Blizzard fixes this; either make our pets tankier or give us a 2-sec rez time back. Something.
No, hunters do not enjoy this stupid change.
Just popping in for the week to add to this thread since I am unable to add anything to the actual beta feedback thread. I don’t know what we can do to draw Blizzards attention to this critical issue. I myself have really been noticing the impact as of late no matter if I am engaged in PVP or PVE my pets take way too much damage and the mend pet might as well be one of those buttons that they put at crosswalks that don’t do anything but are there so the impatient people feel like they have something to do while waiting for the lights to change. I have to use it like 3 or 4 times to heal my pet up which takes a day and a half not to mention all dmg I am not putting out when I have to interrupt my rotation constantly to keep it up (AND it’s dispellable ?!?!).
To top it off they went and fixed your ac pet to what it should have been doing since who knows when. Now when your main pet dies they vanish instantly instead of sticking around for a bit to tank for you while you spend that eternity trying to rez your main pet. Basically all of the changes they have made to pet durability, mend pet/spirit mend and the rez timer coupled with the ac pet fixes have become what I would consider disastrous for BM hunters. All it is going to take is for the other classes to run a key or two with one of us in some dungeon or raid where our pet takes what used to be a moderate amount of damage and all of a sudden nobody is inviting hunters to anything.
Oh and then to add insult to injury they nerfed all of our damage basically by 5%. GG and thanks for all the fish !
I thought about starting another thread but this one is pretty long as it is so maybe if we keep on reiterating how we all feel in this one (since we all can’t add input to the beta threads) somebody someday will hear our pleas and fix this like they finally did with Hunters Mark (let’s just hope it’s not sometime after 9.1 like I feel it is going to be.
TLDR: Please listen to basically everyone of us hunters and fix the pet durability and/or revert the rez cast time for the love of N’zoth !
A nice middle ground might be make the Rez instant but it takes 4 seconds for the pet to come back. This way there isn’t the constant cc issues but there is still a cost to it.
That’s the first thoughtful solution that I have heard to this problem that doesn’t just echo what everyone else is saying.

and then if you turtle (only chance to get your pet back) a monk can just ring of piece the cast and interrups you through turtle
