keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep better at night.
As for me, I don’t mind the 4 second cast. It does not affect my gameplay. If you can’t respect that other people don’t have to agree with you, your opinions, or your beliefs, then dunno what to tell you.
In addition, there are alternative solutions to the pet getting targeted and dying issue just tame pets that are damn near impossible to see and click to target in the heat of combat, such as one of the pets that are the size of critters ;D https://i.imgur.com/Q7ZPINT.png sometimes in the heat of the moment, i sometimes forget or lose track of them myself and think my pet is stuck somewhere or not spawning until i remember it’s too small
Oh, but Dilly, didn’t you hear Raven? Just land your traps. Any good hunter can land them 100% of the time and automatically get their rez off as a result! /s
It astonishes me that Raven literally used Dilly as a reference, and is now arguing with him and basically telling him he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Grand. It affects a bunch of other people, people much better at this game than you. So how 'bout you pipe down about things you don’t know nothing about and listen to the person you cited when trying to support your point.
you still on about this xD guess you glanced over my last couple replies… you just can’t live with the fact that some people do not share your opinion. And as for dillon i still stand by what i stated, regardless of pets being killed, he still got 3.4k last patch and is the top hunter in the world. just goes to show that his pets getting killed, as annoying as it is to him or his view on how easy it is to kill a hunter’s pet, did not stop him from being on top.
And as he himself pointed out, that was 1) with corruptions and essences in the mix, and 2) with a 2s rez timer.
But clearly you know better than the person even you cited as the best PvP hunter in the world at the moment. Let us all bow down to Raven’s superior knowledge and unquestionable authority when it comes to PvP.
I could totally see Ravens actually being part of the dev team tasked to making changes to classes including hunters and he’s here defending the changes that he helped create. Because not one of them actually seem to listen to what almost every single hunter is saying about this change.
Giving him or her too much credit. I doubt they are a dev. They’re simply stubborn, close minded, and utterly convinced they are correct. They cite an expert in hunter PvP to try to demonstrate their point, then tell that very same expert that he is wrong when he shows up and disagrees. They’re one of those humans that have developed a coping mechanism to conflicting information by deciding the information must be wrong and that their pet belief is still correct.
That’s just it though, if they’re a troll they aren’t even that good at it. They’ve had to change their goalposts multiple times now and then finally went from
I had a pet die for the first time since prepatch and it was pretty irritating having to use turtle just so I could get my revive pet off. I knew Blizzard dropped the ball with this nerf long ago, and I’m surprised more hunters haven’t come to the forums to complain. Its bad enough we’ve had to scatter trap all these years, now we have to turtle rez, too.
This is not a logical analogy at all. If a chaos bolt is interrupted, they are silenced for 4 sec and get to start casting them again afterwards. If I get interrupted during my revive cast, my pet is still dead 4 seconds later.
The pet dying is way more punishing then a single kick. The pet dying and having to Rez it is equivalent to a melee player being disarmed and then having to Rez his weapon with a 4 second Rez timer to get the weapon back. And that cast can be stunned or kicked…feared…sheeped…etc
When the hunter pet dies it loses the following for the entire duration of time it’s dead, including those 3-7 times its interrupted with various cc as well.
It loses: kill command
Pet freedom
Haste buff from barbed shots losing 90% haste buff to pet
It loses fifty percent of it’s damage. But it really loses 100% due to having to Rez during that time.
Roar of sac unusable
Loses intimidate stun
When u lose stuns traps become super hard to land.
If ur using freeze traps defensively ur losing the ability to land a kill
Ur probably going to be forced into turtle or exhil wasting 1 of ur 2 only defensives due to pet being dead if not both.
And the thing that makes it easier on the other team is that with the pet dead ur teams pressure dies and the enemy team can focus even easier on kicking/incapping/stunning ur Rez. Some games at 2300-2400cr area my Rez has been stopped for 40 seconds straight. And that was with a 2 second rez timer. That’s 40 seconds ur just a target dummy.
I use mend pet a ton it doesn’t help vs good teams that purge or cleave well. 4 seconds is ignorant and anyone advocating for it either wants hunter to fail or they literally don’t play at a high enough standard to even know they don’t know what they are talking about. And don’t say healers should heal the pet. Very few heals have the time or Mana or understanding to even heal the pet. Try getting lfg healers to heal the pet. That’s an act of congress( not happening). So if it’s not happening why punish the hunter that’s not a lack of skill issue that’s the facts jack
I mean, you are the dumbass who referenced @Dillon as a BS appeal to authority to prove your point, got corrected in detail (with video!) BY DILLON multiple times, and you still continue with your ridiculous crusade.
I have been pushing high keys this week and it’s absolutely miserable, especially when combined with the new volcanic that will often spawn under you during the cast and gives you no choice but to start over because of the knockback.
Pet are much squishier than before. I gave up on using a spirit beast outside of a few select bosses where you need the extra health and DR. A ferocity pet with a defensive ability at least lives a bit longer. But they still die a lot.
The worst definitely was the eel packs in Shrine of the Storm where I’ve had to revive my pet 8 times total… that just feels terrible. The trash before snake boss in Temple of Sethraliss takes second place. There is some trash where they used to live through a random hit, but they now flop over. Motherlode comes to mind. I’ve also had it die multiple times to the fear obelisk adds, but at least in that case I don’t mind too much because I have my pet in range of them while the tank kites so other dps don’t get the overtuned bleed on them. Most of the deaths I simply have no control over.
And the death on its own is already punishing enough with you losing buffs and frenzy stacks.
I’ve actually been having some issues with the mobs right outside Rexxars hut in the vision. Not sure which mob is the problem exactly but one of them if not a few have absolutely demolished my clefthoof in a matter of seconds. Then they all come at me and for some reason I haven’t been able to feign death when this has happened so of course I get wrecked also. I’ve been doing 5 mask runs with no issues for months now and I have never had anything even close to this happen.
Also before the prepatch my ac pet would still be alive and the mobs would switch to it when my main pet ever died but now it seems that as soon as my main dies the ac pet either vanishes or they removed it from any sort of threat table. I can live with them missing a mob here and therre when it comes to things being equal after the squish, but whatever they did to the ac pet is something that they should have said something about.
I’m pretty sure that it’s working the way it was intended now though as I don’t think that they ever wanted the ac pet to live on to tank mobs but now with this ridiculous rez time they should have just left well enough alone.
edit, I forgot to ask if anyone else has noticed any of these issue as that was my main point in posting all that
