True haha. Learning some very basic tech will let you never run out of vigor and Skyride forever. The only time you need slow flying is for extreme precision, e.g., DF flag planting, treasure hunting.
I havenāt found myself with any reason to use old flying at all in TWW.
I can imagine scenarios where I might want to switch back but I havenāt encountered any of them this expansion.
Yup, but when they added halt, precision landing is vastly easier now. Before, yeah static for precision but now, donāt even need static for that.
Even halt recharges your vigor.
I like both, I just use sky riding now because I donāt bother to toggle between the two. I wish it was just standard flying by default and then you push the sky riding abilities to do those things. Why keep them separated?
I wouldnāt have a problem with the toggle if it wasnāt a dang 5 second cast.
Iām in skyriding mode 99% of the time. The only time in regular flying mode is if Iām doing something that requires more control like a quest requiring me to land on trees or something like that.
With those types of quest I fly above the thing needed and halt to float down on top of said target
Skyriding, but at zero vigor should turn into regular flying instead of free falling.
Like I said a āSkyriding nerdā , so I should watch a YouTube video and learn to chain abilities together, so I never run out of vigor eh? Damn fam If I have to do all that itās a mini game mixed in as a mode of travel, I watch YouTube videos for boss fights not to learn whatās supposed to be a simple mode of ingame travel. Most ppl donāt want to at all times have to pay that much attention to simple travel. I didnāt say I didnāt use it either just not all the time. Like it or not Static flight is still liked and used. Iām glad both are in game tbh
Well I didnāt need a YouTube video. But you might if you donāt get it.
Also have nothing against static. I use it as well but I just donāt understand how people donāt know how to do skyriding. YouTube it if it is hard for you.
Mostly, you shouldnāt have your vigor be running out. So many of the mechanics is built into recharging it via movement or halting. Even gathering recharges vigor.
I play druidsā¦ I prefer flight form in traditional flying for my normal activities. I get gold on all the races when I do dragonflying, but its meh to me as a flight form honestly.
Love skyriding in flight form. I love to see the bird glide more than constant flapping but that is just me.
Itās character specific, and most of them prefer static flight. The ones that donāt farm nodes will zip and zoom. Skyriding is fun, but I still like static, especially since Iām rarely in a hurry.
If they were the same speed or nearly the same regular. I donāt find skyriding annoying though. I just want the easiest and quickest path from a to b
Regular flying exclusively. Iām not good at skyriding as I canāt see the ground in terms of nodes and disturbed earth when Iām flappy birding and Iām rarely in a hurry to get anywhere.
Happy the options are there for everyone.
I often just do silly loops with skyriding.
I donāt need a YouTube video, itās not that serious because static flying is still in game and there isnāt anything critical tied to needing to know Skyriding expertly unless you want one of those fugly dragonrider racing mogs or want to get around in-game faster over long distances (which is all I use it for and most others from the comments) . Maybe if there was a PvP dragonriding/dog fighting mode I would be more interested in getting my Skyriding mini game skills up, Maverick
You make jokes but man, it is still sad to see that you canāt grasp the mechanics.
Also it is so fun to race other people or play a game of sky tag.
It really depends on what Iām doing. Skyriding is the best for long-distance flying. Stable is good for intermittent gameplay (i.e. if Iām going AFK and coming back a lot) and short distance movement.
mehā¦ i hate the streaming fart smoke.
