Personal Preference: Skyriding or Regular flying?

How are you doing any of that? Do you not watch where you are going? Also thrill of the skies should be up constantly so vigor doesn’t drop.

If I ever run into something, I literally need to point at it and crash.

Good for you, honestly.

Fast flight is OK. If you enjoy it, great.

I don’t hate it, but I am not overly skilled with it because I don’t want to be.

I like being able to look at my surroundings and I really can’t do that well at speed.

Though fast flying as a Dracthyr for some reason is fun.

Idk you guys keep talking about that buff, sorry but whatever that buff doesn’t do anything to keep your vigor from running out, I even found all the glyphs. But sometimes I just don’t feel like playing the “vigor game” and have to pay attention like I’m in an instance just to travel lol. Plus I’m old school, nobody really liked “Panzer Dragoon” like that back in the day…

Nah, panzer dragoon was peak.

Also thrill of the skies is the buff you get that recharged vigor. With 2 vigor only, you can reach so much heights if you keep the buff up. It’s when you have a blue aura around you while flying, it recharges your vigor quicker than you spend them.

Regular flying beats skyriding.

To me Skyriding was just a huge waste of time.

Steady flight mainly, with skyriding for specific tasks. I’d love for them to integrate. Add a hover function in skyriding, and no vigor. Just make the whirling surge etc. buttons be on a cooldown. Do that and steady flight could be retired.

Regular. On my alts I switch as soon as I hit level 20 and never switch back.

An evoker that doesn’t sky ride? You need your wings clipped.

Aye, the halt button should be the button to turn into steady flying. Just a toggle

Press ascend and you go back to skyriding.

Dragonriding addon solves this problem. Easy to just shoot upward super high and then coast on an angle just enough to maintain speed.

You retain forward momentum for longer (including upward) if you chain your speed boosts (both Surge and Skyward Ascent) close enough together, i.e., just before your speed drops below the vigor regen point. Doing so allows you to basically move upward indefinitely.

I strained my wings flying from the Dragon Isles that first time.

Aye, I get to higher ledges with skyriding. You just chain your ascents to keep thrill of the sky, then you level out to regain more vigor with the buff still on and then keep ascending.

Didn’t know there was an addon but I’m very good at skyriding so I probably won’t need it

Guess you didn’t read the part where I wrote that regardless of that buff your vigor still runs out. No cap but you must be a Skyriding nerd to never run out of vigor. How is that other person running into cliffs? Shoot, how are you never running out of vigor?? Naw I still stand by what I said. Skyriding is good for medium to long distances but sucks in tight spaces unless your a Dracthyr
too bad DH don’t have the ability :v:t5:

I call bull on running out with thrill of the skies buff still on. Literally just YouTube skyriding and see people chaining surges, ascents and what not to never run out of vigor.

Also that person literally is just running into walls. They don’t move, that is why.

Skyriding is super easy, I’m surprised people even have trouble with it

Skyriding 99.99% of the time.

I think I swapped once since the toggle was implemented

I like them both and both have their place and situational use (imo).

Only time I use static is when I need to kill mobs in an area that is being grinded by other players. So just hover in place to see around.

Majority of the time, it is skyriding.

Mostly Skyriding by far. I do like the option to switch back to hover on occasion.
