You’re literally arguing under the assumption that Blizzard removed it because of viable reasons. Unless you personally work at Blizzard and were present at the conference where they decided to scrap this system, you cannot reasonably claim that you know the whole truth. At this point, you’re just pandering.
sure stranger if that keeps your boat chillin’, I “support” you.
but I don’t support this echo chamber therefore maybe on the next thread.
this thread is to promote “pl bad man” “ml good man”
I too like throwing around buzzwords
It’s not “loot control”, loot in and of itself is not important, but it is an important tool.
Long-time raiders don’t give a damn about loot, because we know it’s all going to get vendored in a few months anyway. The only people who are obsessive about loot are people who don’t raid.
The reasons to bring back Master Looter are:
-
It would speed up raiding since people wouldn’t have to trade.
-
It wouldn’t waste loot which gets stuck on people who can’t trade it, now. (We lost not only an Ashvane trinket, but also a Warforged and Titanforged Ashvane Trinket, none of which I could trade because I got them in that sequence, even though they were BiS for a ton of people in the raid AND I NEVER USED ANY OF THEM. Wasted loot.
-
We could bring trials on bosses like Nzoth before we’re done getting mounts for the progression team. As is? We just don’t bring them.
PL isn’t bad. It’s just that we should be given options for our own groups.
yes but that would require responsibility on the part of the individual which is too much for most apparently.
I love how some people on these forums glorify Blizzard like they’re this omnipotent entity that always makes good, reasonable, and data-driven decisions.
Anti master-loot supporters love to believe that it was removed because of viable reasons.
Multiboxing supporters love to believe that it isn’t cheating because it’s stated as such in the T&C.
Locked-covenant supporters love to believe that it’s a good system because “RPG” and “meaningful choice”.
Yeah, 80% guild run isnt exactly a pug.
And then you ask any of them to justify Blizzard’s war on flying, and they can’t.
Hey now hold there…
If I remember correctly it was ML pro people that disliked TF so much that they gave us corruptions… how did that turn out? those people got what they wanted but destroyed the balance of the game in the process because dev’s didnt know the feedback clear aside from “lfr shouldnt reward mythic gear, it’s bad… pre pots are expensive!”
Because it doesn’t benefit them. The only things they believe Blizzard makes good, viable, data-driven determinations on are the things that Blizzard’s changed that they disliked. But they won’t say that, because it’d make them look petty.
I don’t even think they disliked master looter.
I just think they hate people who did like it.
You’re being pedantic if your stance is really “Well what if they removed it for no reason!”
Like that’s it? That’s your whole point? They just remove a loot control system with no reason?
Well here’s a recent interview where they just call it abuse… Again. It’s helpful in a discussion if you substitute getting angry with making valid points.
- Trading personal loot
Valid point.
- Master Loot for Guilds
Valid point.
Getting mad at someone’s recent achievments and strawmanning in various ways with mild pedantics or evoking the emotional argument of flight removal in the discussion isn’t… A great look. Given that Blizzard clearly views the Master Loot thing as settled you really need great looks.
Discussing facts isn’t glorification or an endorsement. You really need to pivot from emotional appeals. I don’t fundamentally disagree with you but when most of you corner up and run to insults or emotions it doesn’t make for a great look.
you wont win against an echo chamber, there’s a circle of the same 3-4 people liking each others posts with the same opinions in every “counter” argument.
When I join a guild, it’s a whole ordeal. I have to apply, go into a voice interview, provide logs of my performance and screenshots or video of me playing. Once I get accepted into the guild as a trial I understand (understood since this is in the past) that I wasn’t going to get loot over main raiders because if I’m trash I’ll get declined and kicked from the guild and having acquired loot from the effort of the guild isn’t fair to the guild.
These aren’t “random people” these are supposedly trials
Ion can say whatever he likes but nothing he says has any credibility, because of all the smoke & mirrors he’s blown at us for years.
Flying remains the biggest case in point, he wanted it gone, they lost millions of subscribers as a result, he was forced to recant and has egg all over his face to this day, and he retains a petty grudge against the players over it and delays flying by a year every expansion as a result.
If he said the sky was blue, I would be dubious.
I’m not really trying to win, i even originally agreed with Radina or whatever. I’m trying to get them to back down from non-arguments, nihilism, emotional appeals, and misrepresenting facts. Also, to stop addressing repeating facts as endorsement.
They’re not arguing me they’re fundamentally arguing Ion and a lawyer would straight up laugh at this thread.
My aunt is one.
Remember during Legion when Ion said mobs didn’t scale with ilvl, and then people proved they did and it turned out he was just lying?
If what others say sound insulting to you but you believe everything you say should sound reasonable to others, you’re probably triggered and need to rethink your argument structures.
You went on to write a wall of text based on an assumption about my assumptions. Brava
Unfortunately this is where I have to sort of stop agreeing with you. This thread isn’t about Watcher; Making it about him diminishes what’s being said.
