Look, you’ve clearly got a preconceived idea and keep reaching to whatever conclusion best aligns with that idea so I’m not going to waste my time.
They seriously need to bring back ML for guilds alone because of this.
Yeah, so they can go from being robbed to being the robber. And the world will have more robbers than it did before.
That will create the stigma of joining a Guild being “Signing over your loot”, but i think this is the best compromise. Full Guild runs can have it.
If that kills Guilds it will settle this issue, if that works it still settles this issue.
If you’re joining the type of guilds where people behave like this, you need to change the guild not the system. I wonder why this concept is so difficult for some people to understand.
The theory of all guilds out there abusing ML is grossly untrue. Stop generalizing the bad behaviour of a few people and applying it to the masses.
I love when casuals talk about earning loot for a boss kill. The loot was earned when the other 19 people put the 25-300 attempts to learn the boss. I came back to wow when my guild was 10/12. I did full progression on Carapace and as far as I am concerned I was a carry on every other boss in there and absolutely owe it to them to not leave
And you’re completely free to leave those guilds.
I’m still trying to figure out why the hell people stayed in guilds with:
Loot rules they don’t agree with
Crappy behaving guild leader/officers
Toxic community in general
Just. Leave.
human decision is left out of the picture here. pure rng. this is better. no leaders giving loot to their friends or someone they have personally decided is entitled to it.
you have extra? share it. if not, dont. and if you dont want to, you dont have to.
also why are people ditching your guild so much?
Yes the group downed the boss, but the gear cannot be cut into 25 pieces and handed to everyone, so everyone gets an rng chance at the loot. The winner of rng is the rightful owner of the loot. As for staying after, sure its nice to do, but if you invite random people into your group, i dont see why you feel entitled to the rest of their time, making them do content they dont need. Their participation is at will.
What you want is Guild Wars 2. You can buy your 2nd bis from the AH, your bis comes from crafting and al, the drops in their raids are for transmog and mats for crafting. And since it’s a game that doesn’t have gear or level progression once you get your bis gear it’s good forever.
Problem is I’m pretty sure raiding is dead there. They haven’t released a new raid in ages and once everyone has what they want from a raid it is abandoned.
“Why do you stay in your house after its been robbed, and might be robbed again, just leave”.
How about instead of “just leave”, “just dont be a d!ck guild”
Blizzard clearly thought enough Guilds were abusing it to deem the feature worthy of removal. They have the data, not Rindoria the Demon Hunter. It’s not a theory and the second part of your statement holds no real truth as a result.
However, people should just leave Guilds stealing loot if master loot is returned in a full-guild-run only setting. That is also true.
Bad analogy.
In fact, terrible analogy.
And yes, people DO move because their neighborhood is trash. I’ve done it.
And I HAVE left guilds because I didn’t agree with their systems. It’s. Not. Hard.
Just. Leave.
Nah, this is not a solution, because new people will still come in and get abused. Just. Stop. Being. Corrupt. Garbage. Guilds.
Then it’s up to them to leave too.
If the guild is garbage, it deserves to die. And if people keep leaving, it will.
Stop trying to tell people how to run their guilds.
I feel I have the right to control the distribution of loot as much as any other person when we all pay the same fee to play the game. And that I take it a step beyond to be the raid leader.
Its not their guilds, its blizz servers, blizz ToS, and i’m pretty sure there is something in the ToS about dishonest or distasteful behavior.
As a guild master myself, and the GM of a guild that used master looter until it was removed and never with an incident, I wanna highlight this. People have no idea how much work goes into actually getting a team together which can consistently show up on these specific days at these specific times and get content done.
I tell people in my guild all the time, as their guild master, I think of it like they’re paying someone 15 bucks a month and then coming to me and saying: “Please make this 15 bucks a month worth it.” The way I can do that is by providing an environment where there is no need to pug and people can raid every week consistently, down content, get achievements, etc.
Not showering them in loot. And before people think anything, I was the first person to give loot away under master looter, so much so that my own people had to convince me to take pieces above other people. I was not the priority. I was last on that list.
Agreed wholeheartedly.
Been there, done that, refuse to do it again.
I’ve been playing since 2008*, but facts aren’t real because i sat out almost the entire Horde genocide expansion?
*including many years of sporadic raid pugging in the Master Loot environment a decade longer than your account existed.
