Nah this is fairly common at the high end. People are hopping guilds to try to get specific items like Ra-Den weapons. It’s common right now that after you kill Ilgynoth, you extend for the next several weeks until CE. Some selfish people will hop around guilds still reclearing Ra-Den and Drest for their loot, then once that group extends the lockout they bail and look for another guild to scum loot off of.
It’s definitely abusive behavior and personal loot protects them.
The emphasis people have on demanding their right to individual loot is waving such a “I’VE NEVER ACTUALLY DONE ORGANIZED RAIDING” flag yet they have this incessant desire to keep talking about master looter
Like, organized raiders are not their for their individual progression over the groups progression. Nobody is freaking out of an item goes to somebody else unless your guild is full of PUG heroes
If you stop recruiting, your guild gets stagnant. There’s always a roster spot you can improve. Alternatively, a bench is necessary for when there are people missing raid
You need 22-24 people on a mythic roster. The last thing you want to do is cancel a raid because you don’t have 20. People burn out, emergencies happen, vacations happen, kids happen, etc. Nobody has 100% attendance so you need to keep your numbers up to continue raiding.
And I don’t doubt there are players that genuinely feel as though an item not going to them must be an abuse of power. That’s how greedy people are showing themselves to be; so it doesn’t surprise me they’d submit a ticket while the 19 other people in the group do nothing because things went how they thought it should. And in those situations, the “1” is the voice that’s heard. Not the 19.
Ion doesn’t have a realistic viewpoint on current raiding. He gets carried by his guild who he’s raided with for 15 years and never sees what happens for the thousands of other mythic guilds out there. His rant about trials not getting loot, I never saw that from Mythic guilds in Legion. The raids are too hard now, and the playerbase is too small to do this. He’s completely out of touch with the current scene so his opinion isn’t reality.
Kind of a weird analogy given that loot is entirely random and who knows who gets what and if they even wanted that item to begin with.
If getting loot is the equivalency of getting paid then being a pug in a guild raid is like “Maybe here’s $50 bucks, maybe $25, or $0, but also here’s ¥3500”
Guilds are very connected with the guilds around their ranking. People that raid know more about other raiding guilds than people on the GD know about raiding guilds lol
While I personally am in favor of PL, I would feel pretty lame if a friend told me they joined a guild just to get a raid spot and then told me they bailed once they got the loot they were after. If you agree to sit in with the guild on a run and it’s something everyone is aware of up front, I think that’s different; but if you make it seem like you are there to stay under false pretense, it’s lame.
Hmm so like a employer you want to pay me with a salary of loot but you want to have the right to pay me less then then what I need to survive and then your going to yell at me if I don’t perform well.
Now the money has skipped the middle man (the guild) and goes directly to me and I choose if it’s dolled out or not.
This is not really a choice thing, so much as the choices are no longer only the guilds to make.
Now I would like to see a form of master looter return. But I would require consent of the player per grouping and not only upon entry of the guild. Guilds leadership does change over time and PL only guilds can get one or two over enthusiastic members and become a mythic guild over night. No one should be forced to split ties and good raiding parties over loot.
Accept per raid on ML only please. If it is changed from PL to ML, I must hit accept.
