By prepatch (that you didn’t download), do you mean the PTR or a separate download for the retail game? (I had an extra 20 gig download after the full reinstall that I’ve suspected is the cause of the problems)
I’m currently doing this as well… So, we will see what happens if it doesn’t fix then I guess we can chalk it up to they just don’t care…
The 20 GB download for retail after you finish the first one.
Ah, thanks! Ok, I’ll try another clean install today without that file. Thanks!
I just did a clean install- I still had issues with the sound and some mild lag. I then went to check my drivers and maybe its coincidence but my Dolby Atmos driver was corrupt. It was working just fine pre Tuesday. This PC is a week old so IDK what to think.
I did a clean reinstall yesterday and the issue seemed to go away. Then today it came back, I did a scan and repair, which downloaded around 200 MBs of missing data, but I’m still getting the green circle. While ingame, it feels like half of the game textures are being re downloaded while moving around.
This might be coincidental but I’ve noticed the green circle only pops up when I first load in or when switching sections of a map. If I just hang out in one area it goes away but when I mount up and start flying it periodically pops up. I wonder if it’s responding to the game loading in zone/phasing information in the background as the character moves around.
Same issue here, constantly saying it’s downloading game data. Haven’t noticed any lag though.
Same issue. Started last night. Same thing this morning. Reinstalled game and all drivers updated. Still there
Any update on this? I had to re-download the game to get the patch to work and even with a good connection that takes a long time, I really don’t want to delete and reinstall the game again to still have this green circle issue. Thanks
No update that I’m aware of. I still have it no matter what I try.
I downloaded/reinstalled and in the Battle.net client settings I made sure I had checked “never automatically apply updates” under the game install/update section . Seems to be working fine for me now. Just make sure not to click the “Data for the next patch is available to download. Click to start.” button next to how much remaining game time you have in the client. I’m guessing something in the prepatch data is not playing right with live right now.
So it should sort itself out?
I think if you’ve downloaded the prepatch data, the only way to get back to normal is to redownload, and make sure it doesn’t apply the prepatch update. I’m sure Blizzard will release a patch to fix this, so you don’t have to redownload everything, how long that could take, I’m not sure.
Nobody else I know or play with is having this issue. Wonder why us and not them?
I’m having the issue but other than an annoying green icon it doesn’t impact my game at all. Most people may have the same thing.
I’ve had my sound cut out in game and then my game crashes a few moments later. I’ve also experienced the green circle. I scanned and repaired my files.
I don’t know a lot about PCs so I’m not at all trying to sound like I know what I am talking about. That said could it be an AMD vs NVIDIA thing? Because I have NVIDIA and the people i am talking to that don’t have it have AMD builds.
Same here. I uninstalled the game and the battle.net client and did a new install, but still have the green wheel, some lag and lost of the sound every now and then.
I ended up not trying another clean install yet and I’m still having the download spinner but the lag seems to have mostly gone away within the last hour or two and noticed no double load bar the past few load screens. Glad it did, since I finally finished Mad World during the lag free time.
Support did reply to my ticket saying that the QA team are actively working on it and they were sure to have a solution soon so maybe it seeming to clear up a bit for some of us means they are close to a full fix. Hoping so!
