I thought this was a current topic but see it from Septemeber.
But yeah it is happening now to me.
That temporary fix works for now (and yes, I’ve done that and it is no longer lagging). However Tuesday is pre-patch day which means the prepatch download will have to be installed along with the broken code inside it (or whatever is causing this problem).
The fix only works if we turn off updates and decline the prepatch download.
It’s not as if we will be able to continue without the prepatch data downloaded after Tuesday. That leaves us just a few days with a working game and no word whether this has been fixed.
I understand that Blizzard workers are probably overworked right now and with everything happening in the world, they are under even more stress than usual, but I’d really like some official word on whether this has been fixed, or how progress is going… anything really.
I’m dreading prepatch day since it might very well make it totally unplayable again for many of us. Understandably some of us are getting more concerned as time passes. As it is, it looks like the new code fix (if it has been corrected and loaded by Tuesday) won’t be tested by anyone with the issue until official prepatch day.
So, yeah… I’m feeling a bit worried.
I’ve been experiencing this for 2 weeks now. I know I am up to date. I did a full system restore and downloaded a clean install. In addition to this green circle, I have also been getting frequent 51900319, 323, and an occasional 1019 disconnect. My internet is running at full speed. No addon’s. With and without Firewall. These two issues persist and the disconnect especially is getting frustrating.
Are you referring to the response that says you can uninstall the game and turn off pre-patching game data?
If so, that is a piss poor solution/workaround. I’m not doing that because it’s way too much work and it’s not even guarantee to work. Not to mention the pre-patch is happening soon which will invalidate that option anyway.
If you are referring to another response… what other response is there that is relevant to this issue?
This is only a solution until Tuesday. If this issue hasn’t been resolved before then, those of us with this issue will be unable to play.
I’ll redownload the pre-patch Monday night and test it once the pre-patch launches, but with no update from Blizz on this issue, I don’t have any reason to believe it’ll have been resolved.

Blizzard, please fix this… I don’t want to uninstall/reinstall just so this problem to reappear on Tuesday
Hey Blizzard, 10 days whit this problem. I can to play, yes, but whit the green icon in game & Battlenet is restarting “…Downloading” “…finishing”
once I exit the game, I have the full game installed for months, I also downloaded the pre-patch, for some reason when I exit the game that error consumes some CPU, although it does not show use on the SSD. Review it please.
Note:
In the game folder, when the game is closed and battlenet shows “…finishing”, this .build.info file is deleted and reappears every 15 seconds.

I have this issue as well, started as soon as I installed the beta. Please fix.
I’ve reinstalled the pre-patch after not having it installed for over a week. The issue is no longer occurring for me. May have been fixed.
I’ve had this issue for at least 2 weeks now, personally I have been just holding out for pre-patch because that’s just when I assumed it would be fixed since its an issue with a future patch not downloading correctly. It’ll be really annoying and tilting if this problem persists even after tomorrow.
I’m in the same boat but like you said I’m sure the pre-patch will fix it… fingers crossed.
I not only reinstalled the game, I reinstalled Windows on my computer (different reason) and haven’t gotten on the game since doing so last night. Right now, even though I set the speed for future patch data to 0 to speed it up, it is sitting at 3% and 19.81 GB to be downloaded. It’s showing the download happening in terms of download speed, but nothing is happening other than that. I know there isn’t much to be done except wait for the actual patch to come out today, but I figured I’d post this incase this bit of info can help future patches somehow.
Is it possible to get confirmation that once pre-patch hits retail servers this issue will be fixed? @blizzard
